Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 28 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real.

I don't speak in third person (normally) nor do I wear glasses (except when I'm feeling particularly mischievous). I'm lucky to have found my soul mate at the ripe old age of 22, even though he frustrates me on purpose to get a reaction out of me. We live near Disneyland, have two rambunctious female puppies, and have two beautiful girls. He has two amazing boys, and has gotten me hooked on Smallville, watching soccer (okay, okay FOOTBALL - FC Barcelona, baby!), and Cancun Juice.

Heather C. Myers’ KEPT ON ICE is a gripping. In this story, Georgie Howie, enforcer of the Irvine Buccaneers is a suspect in the murder of his team’s rival Dave Probst. He hires Mika to prove his innocents, but she is determined to discover the truth. This contemporary hockey mystery is suitable for adult readers.

Heather C. Myers continues to do a nice job with this series. It is creative with unexpected twists. I enjoyed how she uncovered the history between the deceased and the accused. She does a nice job of revealing the mystery and keeping the story thrilling. I appreciated how characters were introduced, and their relevance to the murder was questionable.

KEPT ON ICE is a great addition to the Mika Chalmers Hockey Mystery. It is skillfully written and unexpected. I recommend this story to people who enjoy hockey and mysteries. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Heather C. Myers has a game-winner with Ice Breakers (Mika Chalmers Hockey Mystery #1). In this story, private investigator Mika Chalmers is hired by her ex-boyfriend and NHL player, Eric Foresburg, to help prove he did not commit a crime. This contemporary sports mystery takes place in Irvine, California.

Ice Breakers is an original and refreshing read. I like Mika’s character. She is smart and stands up for herself. I like that she doesn’t automatically assume Eric is innocent. She feels her job is to discover the truth. Not just, provide information to her client. Mica’s relationship with Detective Alexander Beech is fascinating. I like how the two bicker.

Ice Breakers is an entertaining read. It has interesting twists. I like the hockey mystery concept. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series Kept on Ice. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports mysteries. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Heather C. Myers gets a shutout with The Goalie (Bad Boys of the NHL #5). In this story, Houston Goalie, Dan Holmes, accidentally hooks up with his sister’s best friend, Samantha, at his masked birthday party. Their chemistry was amazing, if they only didn’t detest each other. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.

The Goalie was a fun story. Dan and Sam did not get along. I like how the characters unknowingly got together. I appreciated how it got them to get to know each other at a different level and realize that there was more to the other person. I found it amusing that they had so much in common. They encountered some intriguing situations that made the story entertaining.

The book flowed well and was easy to read. It fits in great with the rest of the series, but it can be followed as a stand-alone. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Heather C. Myers scores with Seductive Suspensions (Slapshot #7). This is Drew Stefano’s and veterinarian Kira Frank’s book. This story is appropriate for adult readers.

I really enjoyed this story. Being an animal lover, I appreciated that Kira was a vet and that Drew was an animal lover. I love that they had the shelter goal in common. I respected that they opened to each other. I like the idea of a player noticing a fan. I thought it was refreshing how things played out with Rose. Everyone was reasonable.

Seductive Suspensions was skillfully written. It was a heartfelt story that was a delightful read. I recommend this novella to people who enjoy sports romances and people who love animals. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Heather C. Myers wins with Enticing Enforcers (Slapshot Series #16). In this story, Newport Beach Enforcer Xander Vane and Isadora Worthington are friends with benefits. They pretend they are dating to help each other out with their exes. This story is suitable for adult readers.

I like the characters. I appreciated that Xander and Isadora started out as friends. They had a good foundation for their relationship. I like how protective Xander is of Isa. Isadora is the little sister of Xander’s friend and teammate Christopher. That causes some additional issues in the story.

Enticing Enforcers is a heartfelt and entertaining story. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Dimitri’s ex is manipulative. I felt bad for what he was going through. Amanda is studying to be a marriage counselor. Therefore, her perspective on things was interesting. Ravishing Rebounds is an enjoyable read. I recommend it to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Heather C. Myers scores with RUMORS & ROUGHING (Slapshot #5). Alec Schumacher is accused of rape. He doesn’t want to use his girlfriend Gulls Girl Madison Montgomery as his alibi for fear she would lose her job. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for new adult audiences. It takes place in Newport Beach California.

Let me start out by saying it really drove me nuts that Madison didn’t say anything when the police came to question Alec at the start of the story. I realize that if she said something, the premise of the book would be irrelevant, but it took me a while to get over it. I think if she wasn’t there when they came to question Alec, I would have felt different. After I got over that, the story was good. There was a lot going on with Madison’s family that made the novel interesting.

Alec is a good guy. I love that he wanted to protect Madison. He didn’t want her to lose her job or tarnish her reputation. I like that Madison stood up for herself when it came to her parents. I also appreciate that she wanted to protect her sister. I value that Seraphina supports her employees. She would be a great person to work for.

The rape aspect of the story was well executed. I think it is unfortunate when people are wrongfully accused of rape. Not only does it tarnish an innocent person’s reputation, but it makes people question those that are truly victimized because of those who have lied.

RUMORS & ROUGHING is a wonderful addition to the Slapshot series. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Heather C. Myers scores a rebound with BRUTAL LOVE & STANLEY CUPS (Slapshot #9). Private Investigator Clara Bell and Newport Seagulls defenseman Dean Morgan got a second chance after five years apart. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.

I enjoyed this story. Clara and Dean were meant to get a second chance. They really are perfect for each other. They get each other. They have great chemistry and significant history. Their circumstance for separating was understandable. Both regretted the breakup. They had interesting obstacles to overcome in this story. I’m glad Clara broke up with Bill. She was too good for him, and he didn’t treat her with the respect she deserved.

I liked the characters and the storyline. BRUTAL LOVE & STANLEY CUPS was a fast-paced novel that was entertaining and thought-provoking. I like that Clara was the investigator from book five, RUMORS & ROUGHING. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances and second chance romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
