King (Pittsburgh Titans, #14) by Sawyer Bennett Review

King: A Pittsburgh Titans NovelKing: A Pittsburgh Titans Novel by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennett is on a winning streak with book fourteen in the Pittsburgh Titans series, KING. Titans' defenseman Jack Kingston offers to help Doctor Willa Montreaux coach her niece’s pee wee hockey team when no one else offers to step up.

I love that King notices and admires Willa when she stands up to a difficult parent. Having been a hockey mom and team manager, I appreciate that Willa and King prioritized that the kids should have fun at that age. It should be a positive experience.

Willa and Jack have wonderful chemistry. Willa is eight years older than King. That does not deter him. Willa is also divorced and hesitant to get in a relationship. However, she would consider a one-night-stand. Contrary, King is not into one-nightstands. He has only ever had one long-term relationship and is inexperienced with dating. It is an interesting dynamic.

Willa and Jack are both likable characters. The story is skillfully written and interesting. I am looking forward to Rafferty Abrams’ story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Foster (Pittsburgh Titans, #13) by Sawyer Bennett

New Release from Sawyer Bennett Foster (Pittsburgh Titans, Book #13)

Synopsis:

When Foster McInnis ’ ex - wife flakes and he finds himself with full custody of his daughter, the nanny he hires brings a new complication — an attraction he can ’ t ignore, no matter how hard he tries.< /strong> I love being on the ice and am grateful for my hockey career, but the off season is my favorite time of the year because it brings me my one true love — my daughter, Bowie Jane. Between my job and my ex - wife living across the country, the time I ge t to spend face - to - face with my kiddo is limited, though we make up for it with summers full of fun adventures. We ’ re thick as thieves and take full advantage of our time together, but the distance away from her is killing me. My fortunes change when my e x walks away and I find myself with full custody. But with the hockey season looming, I know I ’ m going to need help taking care of Bowie Jane. Enter Mary Elizabeth Archer — otherwise known as Mazzy. Highly recommended to me through the Titans ’ network, Mazzy crashes into our life like a hurricane. She ’ s unlike anyone I ’ ve ever met and to say I ’ m intrigued is an understatement. But no matter how attractive she is, no matter how I crave to know everything about her, I can ’ t go there. It ’ s inappropriate. Just wr ong, wrong, wrong, even though she might be the most right thing I ’ ve ever known. Being the indescribable force she is, there is soon no corner of our lives that Mazzy hasn ’ t impacted in a positive way. And my desire for more with her becomes far stronger than my misguided idea that I could ever resist this woman. Our attraction burns hot and keeping our eyes, hands and mouths off one another gets harder by the minute. It doesn ’ t take long for me to know that I ’ m all in with Mazzy. She ’ s my end game and, lucky for me, winning is my specialty.

Foster (Pittsburgh Titans, #13) by Sawyer Bennett Review

Foster (Pittsburgh Titans #13)Foster by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennett leads the league with FOSTER (Pittsburgh Titans, #13). In this story, Foster McInnis gets full custody of his daughter, Bowie Jane. He needs a nanny quickly. He gets a recommendation for Mary Elizabeth (Mazzy) Archer. She is an amazing nanny; she is beautiful, and talented. However, Foster finds himself struggling to fight his attraction to her.

Sawyer Bennett does a fantastic job with this story. I love Foster, Mazzy, and Bowie Jane. They are all well-developed and likeable characters. Foster is a great dad. He would do anything for his daughter. Mazzy is a fun character. She plays in a two-person band with a childhood friend. I have a niece named Mazzy that sings and plays the guitar. She is a lot younger than the Mazzy of this story, but it made the heroine more endearing for me. Bowie Jane is adorable and mature for her age.

The characters face interesting and realistic obstacles. The story is skillfully written and entertaining. It is the perfect addition to the Pittsburgh Titans series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Boone Rivers uses his fame and fortune as a professional hockey player to his advantage, but not in the way most people would think. V olunteering as often as his busy schedule will allow, Boone meets one brave young boy who turns his world upside down. As a first - line right winger for the Pittsburgh Titans, I thrive on the thrill of the game. I live for the smell of the ice, th e cheer of the crowd and the way my heart pounds whenever I step into the arena. But once I ’ m out of my skates, my focus is on giving back to the city of Pittsburgh. It ’ s funny how life puts people in your path. I meet Aiden while visiting the children ’ s hospital and I ’ m struck by the strength and resilience of this 12 - year - old kid fighting for his life. As my visits continue, we bond over video games and hockey until one day Aiden ’ s older sister walks into his room and I realize there might be a bigger pu rpose here. Lilly Hoffman has the weight of the world resting on her slight shoulders. Aiden ’ s illness isn ’ t getting better, she ’ s at risk of losing her job and their father is looking for the answers to his prayers at the bottom of a liquor bottle. I fin d myself wanting to lessen Lilly ’ s burden and what starts as a simple act of friendship turns into so much more. As we grow closer, I can ’ t help but fall for this fiercely protective and independent woman with a tender heart and bruised but not yet broken spirit. As we face a future of never - ending uncertainty, I vow to be Lilly ’ s source of strength and comfort. Lilly and Aiden have reaffirmed to me the importance of giving and receiving love unconditionally, even in the darkest of times. Hendrix (Pittsburgh Titans, #7) by Sawyer Bennett Review

Hendrix (Pittsburgh Titans, #7)Hendrix by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennett is on a winning streak with HENDRIX (Pittsburgh Titans, #7). Hendrix Bateman was one of the three players that was not on the Titan’s team plane when it crashed. He has survivor’s guilt but is determined to live life to its fullest. He meets bar owner Stevie Kisner at a team event. He is intrigued by her and sets out to get to know her. He challenges her to a pool game for ten minutes of quality time with her. Stevie is friends with Harlow Alston from book #2 STONE. Harlow is dating Titan Stone Dumelin.

I love Hendrix and Stevie. They seem like an unlikely couple but fit together. Stevie has grown up around bikers and has ink. Where Hendrix is more of a pretty boy. They have great chemistry. They both have issues/people from their past that cause some discord in the story.

HENDRIX is an excellent addition to the Pittsburgh Titans series. I am looking forward to book 8, CAMDEN. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Drake (Pittsburgh Titans, #5) Sawyer Bennet Review

Drake (Pittsburgh Titans #5)Drake by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennet gets a shut-out with DRAKE (Pittsburgh Titans, #5). Pittsburgh Titans team owner Brienne Norcross tries to recruit hockey goalie/single dad Drake McGinn to the team. Negotiations are not easy. Drake felt betrayed by the NHL after they believed false allegations made by his drug-addict ex-wife when he was trying to get sole custody of his three boys. Drake is not Brienne’s usual type, but she cannot deny her attraction to him.

I like Brienne. She is a successful business woman. She took over the team after her brother died in the plane crash in the beginning of the series. She is a workaholic. Drake is a good guy and father. I don’t blame him for feeling betrayed by the NHL. I love that the Titans believe in him and give him an opportunity to play again. Both Drake and Brienne are relationship adverse and need to work on balancing their lives. They face attention-grabbing obstacles.

DRAKE is a heartfelt and entertaining read. It is the perfect addition to the Pittsburgh Titans series. I’m looking forward to Coach Cannon West’s story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Coen (Pittsburgh Titans #4) by Sawyer Bennett Review

Coen (Pittsburgh Titans, #4)Coen by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennett is on a winning streak with COEN (Pittsburgh Titans, #4). I have been anxiously awaiting captain Coen Highsmith’s story. He was one of the three Pittsburgh Titans players who did not die in the plane crash. He was out with the flu. Survivor’s guilt is not the only guilt he is suffering from.

Coen buys a cabin in the deep woods in Coudersport from teammate Stone Dumelin (Book 2). He ends up in a legal battle with his neighbor, Tillie Marshall. Tillie wants to remove some trees in the easement of their property to construct a driveway to access an art studio she is having built. Coen wants his privacy and does not want the trees taken down.

Coen does not have a good relationship with his parents. He was raised by the staff. He found a family in hockey, but after the crash, he is contemplating giving hockey up. He was loved by his team mates prior to the crash. Afterward, he has secluded himself and has been a jerk to the people around him.

Tillie is a likable character. Her parents passed away in an accident. She is from Coudersport. She was not part of the popular crowd growing up. Coen intervenes when Tillie is being bullied by some former classmates. The two form an interesting relationship; they are attracted to each other, but they are still enemies. They help each other heal in the process.

COEN is skillfully written and heartfelt. It was the perfect addition to the Pittsburg Titans series. I am looking forward to Drake McGinn’s story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Gage (Pittsburgh Titans, #3) Sawyer Bennet

Gage: A Pittsburgh Titans Novel Sawyer Bennett Release Date: July 5, 2022

Read the first THREE chapters of Gage

Veteran player Gage Heyward retired from the league following a successful career. Now the Titans need him, but does he have what it takes to get back on the ice and pull this team together? After achieving the goals I set for myself, I walked away from my professional hockey career. It was a tough decision, but the right one at the time. When the Titans organization approached me about joining the team they were rebuilding following a devastating plane crash, I felt a passion for the game and a competitive spirit I hadn’t felt in years. The opportunity to make a huge difference to a lot of people spoke to me, and I accepted thei r offer and headed to Pittsburgh without a second thought. Jenna Holland is also new to town, having moved from Phoenix to Pittsburgh to take a job with the Titans. Her past has left her with scars — both physical and emotional — and she’s slow to trust other s. But the more I learn about Jenna, the more I want to know. The more I need to know. Because the beautiful blonde with honey gold eyes and a wall around her heart has me enamored. My game on the ice is the best it’s ever been, but it’s my game off the i ce I’m focused on these days. Because while Jenna may not be willing to take a chance, I know the potential is there for something big. Something life changing. Now I just need to convince her to take the shot.

Gage (Pittsburgh Titans, #3) Sawyer Bennet Review

Gage (Pittsburgh Titans, #3)Gage by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennet gets a hat trick with the third book in the Pittsburgh Titans series, GAGE. Hockey star Gage Heyward comes out of retirement to play for the Titans to help rebuild their team after a tragedy. He meets Jenna Holland, who relocated from Phoenix to become the Titans new media liaison. Jenna has physical and emotional scars after surviving a fire. Gage is smitten by Jenna and wants to break down her walls.

Gage is a good guy. He likes mentoring the younger players on the team. He is observant. He sees past Jenna’s physical scars and recognizes the beautiful woman she is.

Jenna is the sister of Emory Holland from JETT (Arizona Vengeance #10). We met her in that story. Her confidence was shattered after the accident. People she loved and trusted did not stand by her. Gage slowly helps her build back her confidence.

GAGE is a heartfelt and emotional read. Both Jenna and Gage are remarkable characters: Jenna for the strength of surviving such a painful experience, Gage for seeing past physical imperfections. I love the relationship Jenna builds with Sophie from BADEN (Pittsburgh Titans, #1). The story is skillfully written. It is the perfect addition to the Pittsburgh Titans series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

STONE by Sawyer Bennett

Stone (Pittsburgh Titans, Book 2) Sawyer Bennett Release Date: March 1, 2022

Mino r league player Stone Dumelin lost his younger brother when the Titans’ team plane went down. He never expected the phone call that followed. As my career faded, my estranged brother’s star shot into orbit as the first line left winger for the Pittsburgh Titans. But when the team’s plane crashed returning home one night, his light was snuffed out, and I was given the opportunity of a lifetime. Now I’m in Pittsburgh, playing for the Titans, and face - to - face with my dead brother’s ghost at every turn. His locker, his legacy, his persistent and annoyingly gorgeous attorney who won’t stop contacting me about his estate, e ven though I’ve demanded she leave me alone. Harlow Alston would be extremely appealing if she wasn’t so aggravating. Only...that’s a complete lie. She pushes all the right buttons for me, and as much as I want her to quit pestering me about Brooks’s estate , I find myself intrigued by the fiery redhead who can’t take no for an answer. And the more I learn about Harlow, the more I find she might be the key to understanding who Brooks really was, and who I want to be. Stone (Pittsburgh Titans #2) by Sawyer Bennett Review

Stone (Pittsburgh Titans, #2)Stone by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennett had a clutch performance with STONE (Pittsburgh Titans, #2). Stone Dumelin was sent down to the AHL after receiving a shoulder injury. He expected to end his career in the minors. Then his estranged brother, Brooks, died when the NHL Titans’ team plane crashed. Stone struggles to deal with his brother’s death. He doesn’t want anything to do with his brother’s estate, but Brooks' lawyer, Harlow Alston, is very persistent. The more he gets to know Harlow, the more he discovers about his brother and himself.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, but I will admit that I put it off for a couple of days because I knew it would be sad. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. I laughed and cried. This book is amazing.

Harlow is a strong heroine. She has good values and admits her weaknesses. I love Harlow’s Bernese Mountain Dog, Odin. He added a lot of fun to the story. My heart went out to Stone and Brooks. Their dad is a horrible person. I hate that he put a wedge between them. I’m glad Stone discovers the truth.

STONE was a heartfelt and emotional read. It was skillfully written. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Known as the team loner, Riggs Nadeau gives his all on the ice, but nothing extra off it. A beautiful stranger is about to cause chaos in his very structured world.

As a professional hockey player, people think I live a charmed life. On the surface, I do. But they don’t know the horrors of my childhood, or the real reason that I have custody of my seventeen-year-old sister, Janelle. And that’s exactly the way I like it. They may think I’m a prick because I don’t like to share, but that’s fine. They don’t know me, and they don’t need to. In an effort to help Janelle get settled in Phoenix and stay out of trouble at school, I set her up with a job at Clarke’s Corner, the local bookstore owned by the girlfriend of a teammate. It’s there that she makes friends with Veronica Woodley, the extremely annoying, arrogant, money-hungry divorcee who I don’t want anywhere near my sister. Janelle insists I’m completely wrong about Veronica, but I refuse to accept that. I have to keep reminding myself that that the gorgeous blond with legs for days is off limits. Through a series of events, I start to see Veronica for what she really is—an amazing woman who has survived her own hell to come out even stronger. I have to admit, we’re more alike than not and the attraction between us burns hot. Maybe I was all wrong about my ability to love and commit, but when the past comes back to haunt me, can I be the man that Veronica, and Janelle, deserve?

Riggs (Arizona Vengeance #11) by Sawyer Bennett Review

Riggs (Arizona Vengeance #11)Riggs by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennett is on a winning streak with RIGGS (Arizona Vengeance #11). In this story, defenseman Riggs Nadeau has recently been traded to The Arizona Vengeance. He lives with his seventeen-year-old sister, Janelle and keeps to himself, not wanting anyone to find out about their past. He gets Janelle a job at Clarke’s Corner, which is owned by his teammate’s wife (WYLDE, Book #7). Janelle befriends Clarke’s best friend, Veronica Woodley. Veronica takes Janelle under her wing. Unfortunately, Riggs does not like Veronica, well not at first anyway…

Sawyer Bennett does an amazing job with this book. She does a great job of evolving the characters and revealing their past. Riggs becomes friends with Baden, who was horrifically attacked while rescuing a woman in a previous book. Baden’s friendship means a lot to him, and he begins to open-up. Veronica also had a difficult past. The two realize they are more alike than they thought. I love how their relationship transitions. The three face some interesting challenges during the novel.

RIGGS is a compelling addition to the Arizona Vengeance series. I cannot wait to read Baden’s story next. He has been through so much in the last few books. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Jett Olsson isn’t looking for anything serious and she’s not looking for anything at all, so why does it seem so hard to keep it professional? I love my life—the thrill of being on the ice as part of the Arizona Vengeance, the rush of winning, the adoration of the fans. And if that adoration means I don’t have to spend the night alone, well even better. I’m content being single and always ready to mingle. But the day Emory Holland walks into a Vengeance team meeting my attention is caught like never before. I can tell right away she’s full of smarts and sass, and the fact that she’s hot as hell sure doesn’t hurt either. She immediately shuts down my advances, so I opt for the road less traveled—straight to the friend zone. My approach works like a charm, and when she invites me into her bed for a no-strings, friends-with-benefits arrangement, I vow to give her everything I have. She’s been hurt before, and if I’m able to help her heal while giving her a spectacularly satisfying time *pats self on back*, then I’ll be happy. Or at least that’s the lie I keep telling myself as the time ticks down on the final buzzer of our “relationship”. Now the real question is, can I score the winning goal in a game neither of us realized we were playing?
