I tremble, then glance around the office. It’s huge, with windows overlooking the field. With a massive desk for the owner. With me on that desk. Have I had boss fantasies before? I don’t think so but right now all I want is to be taken in the morning by this powerful man.

Hannah Gray lights the lamp with PERFECT BOY (The Puck Boys of Brooks University #6). This is Watson Gentry’s and Ryann Denver’s story. We learned that they got married at the end of book five, LOST BOY. I was anxiously awaiting their story. I was not disappointed.

PERFECT BOY starts out with a prologue and then flashes back to two months prior. Watson and Ryann initially meet in a business class. Ryann being anti-athlete, shoots him down. Watson is the starting goalie for the Wolves. He has a spot waiting for him on the New York Rangers providing he is not injured and maintains his performance.

Ryann and Watson are paired together for the Brody O’Brien Fundraiser; where a hockey player is matched with a ballet dancer to put on a performance. Watson is thrilled, Ryann not so much. They spend time together and become friends.

It turns out Ryann is in the US illegally. Watson suggested getting married. She thinks it is temporary. Watson has other plans. However, there are other complications along the way.

Hannah Gray does a fabulous job with this story. It is the perfect addition to The Puck Boys of Brooks University series. It is skillfully written and thought provoking. I love all the characters. I am looking forward to Walker’s and Poppy’s novel next, LAST BOY. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

CHOSEN BY LOVE (Bellevue Bullies Series #8) by Toni Aleo is gymnast Cameron White and hockey captain Benson Jeannot’s story. It takes place after HER CHOICE their freshman year. Cam and Benny are now seniors. The two had a falling out after HER CHOICE. Now Cameron needs Benson to fake date her for her social media marketing project. Benny is more than happy to jump at the chance after Cameron broke his heart after she ghosted him after freshman year.

I have been reading Toni Aleo’s books since 2011. She is one of my favorite authors. After reading every book, I feel like she outdoes herself. I think there is no way she can surpass herself again, yet she always proves me wrong. She did it again. I loved this book. I am so happy Cam, and Benny got their second chance. CHOSEN BY LOVE is heartfelt and entertaining. The characters are amazing.

Top the story off with the fact that Cam is best friends with Callie Merryweather. Callie is engaged to Evan Adler. Benny is living with Quinn Adler. So, there is more Quinn and Emery Brooks drama. I cannot wait for their book. I love the Adlers. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Flip Shot: A Friends to Lovers, Hockey Romance by MJ Fields

MJ Fields is on a winning streak with book four in the Taking The Shot series FLIP SHOT. Hockey Center/Captain Theo Rivera was ghosted by gymnast Riley Park over the summer. He doesn’t know what to expect when he heads back to Lincoln University.

Riley’s KET big is Ellie Rhodes (LONG SHOT, Taking The Shot #1). She is living with Ellie, Leah, Grace, and Cody Warren (football quarterback) at Casa Costello (Dean Costello’s house). Theo is living with Koa Olu Kelekolio and Dash Sterling, who we met in the previous book. They transferred from Hayward University after their hockey team folded. Their fourth roommate is Jason Taylor.

At the beginning of the story, Riley decides she is going to support her roommate and become a football girl, instead of hockey. Theo is going to have none of that. He doesn’t give up without a fight. Hockey season hasn’t started yet, so the hockey team has been supporting the football team. There were some interesting dynamics. Especially when Riley goes on a date with defensive end Oz Hunt.

I enjoyed Riley’s letters to Simone. Theo is an amazing guy. The two have fantastic chemistry. FLIP SHOT was an excellent addition to the TAKING THE SHOT series.

I am looking forward to Drew Daniles/Dean Costello’s and Cody Warren’s stories in THE HOLIDAY HAT TRICK. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
