Xavier Neal starts out strong with the first book in the Dalvegan Dragons series, THE OWNER. In this story, NHL Dalvegan Dragons’ new team owner Harlow Hennington, wakes up married in Las Vegas to a much younger, Brendan “Brick” Brickley. To top it off, she ends up getting pregnant. Being a new team owner whose female, she has a lot to prove. So does Brick, who wants to stay married.

Xavier Neal does a great job with this novel. It had me laughing – a lot, which is a definite plus. The characters were down to earth and entertaining. The constant hockey analogies were amusing. I enjoyed the behind-the-scenes aspect of running a hockey franchise. The team had realistic obstacles that were thought-provoking. I would recommend this book to any hockey lover.

THE OWNER sets an excellent foundation for the Dalvegan Dragons series. I am looking forward to reading Igor “Eeyore” Alexeyev story next, THE VETERAN. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Xavier Neal scores with My Fair Puck Bunny (Hockey Gods #2). In this story, Vlasta Vipers hockey player Adrian Stratton’s ex-girlfriend, Daniella Sulivan, is back in town. He must work with her on a charity committee. He recruits his twin sister’s friend Tatum Rojas to be his fake girlfriend to prove to Daniella that he is over her. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for New Adult readers.

My Fair Puck Bunny is a fun story. At first, I wasn’t crazy about Adrian, but as more was revealed about his true personality it made me like him further. Adrian puts on an act with everyone but Tatum. I love that with her, he can finally be himself. She accepts and encourages him. Simultaneously, I appreciated how Adrian gives Tatum the confidence to come out of her shell and believe that she is beautiful. Daniella was an easy to dislike antagonist. I hate how she treats people.

Xavier Neal does a great job with this novel. It is skillfully written and creative. I like that Ren and Poppy from Can't Block My Love (Hockey Gods #1) played roles in this story. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Xavier Neal has a game-winner with Can't Block My Love (Hockey Gods #1). Vlasta Vipers hockey goalie, Remington Ronald Rutledge the 3rd (Ren) gets in trouble with his new hockey coach and is forced to do community service if he wants to stay on the team. He tries to bully the pet shelter volunteer coordinator, Poppy Diesel, not recognizing her as his childhood friend. The two strike a bargain, while their friendship rekindles. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for new adult and adult readers. The story takes place in Vlasta, Wisconsin.

Can't Block My Love is a thought-provoking and entertaining read. Xavier Neal does a fantastic job showing the transformation of Ren’s character. Remington Ronald Rutledge the 3rd is a jerk. That’s not really how I would describe him, but I want to keep my review clean. As he hangs out with Poppy, he transforms into a better person. He starts to act like the man he wants to be and not the person his father raised him to be. Poppy is a sweet heroine. She is abandonment issues, is introverted, and loves animals. The two are perfect for each other. They challenge each other, causing them to develop into happier people.

I enjoyed the plot. There were a lot of fascinating things that happened in the novel. Poppy and Ren have relevant challenges to overcome. The team dynamics were interesting. I like how Coach Stiles handled the athletes. Being an animal lover, I appreciated Poppy’s loyalty to the dogs and shelter. This is the first book that I have read by Xavier Neal. I really enjoyed it and plan and following this series. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader's copy of this book.

“You look like you’re about to do a Christmas commercial for PetSmart.”

 Her eyes dart down to the evergreen dress shirt.

 “You don’t have anything else to wear?”

 “I don’t think I look that bad…”

 “You look like I should cover your ass in Tinsel and hang ornaments off your nipples.”

 “That would hurt.”

 “Not as much as having to stare at you in this shirt.”

 Poppy’s eyes dart up to me and narrow. “Well, unless you wanna stop by Target-”

 “Try again.”

 “Or Macy’s-”

 “More likely.”

 “Or Nordstrom’s-”

 “We’ve got an account there.”

 “This is what I’m wearing,” she defiantly grumps. “Deal with it.”

 “Fine.”

 “Fine.”

 In one swift motion, I reach over and undo the top three buttons of the shirt. Her squeaks of objection fall on deaf ears as I mentally debate on unfastening one more. Currently, this gives just the smallest side shot of her tits, which should be enough to entice without giving her the skate chasing slut sensation I’m trying to avoid. I approve my handy work with a pleased nod. “Dealt with.”

 “Ren-”

 “Hair.”

 “What about my hair?” Poppy instantly squeaks.

 “You look like you don’t own a brush.” I tilt my head condescendingly to the side. “Do you?”

 Her jaw plummets to her lap in my favorite way.

 Unable to resist the urge to get under her skin, I scold, “Might wanna shut that before my dick finds its way into it.”

 She snaps it closed so fast a chomp sound echoes around my SUV.
