Samantha Whiskey is on a game-winning streak with Sawyer (Carolina Reapers #2). I was really looking forward to Sawyer McCoy’s story. We first meet Sawyer in the Seattle Sharks series. He was a goalie at the University of Washington. He was the roommate of Faith Gentry (Wheeler, Seattle Sharks #8) and Harper Thompson (Defender, Seattle Sharks #9).

Sawyer is a loveable character. He has taken care of his mother who has Parkenson’s since he was fifteen. He is a really good guy, who hasn’t had things go his way. Now he is finally given the opportunity to have his dream come true and play in the NHL.

Sawyer first met Scythe’s bartender, Echo Hayes, in book one, Axel. This is their story. The two seem like opposites, but they truly work together. Their chemistry is combustible.

I love Samantha Whiskey’s writing style. I have enjoyed every book that I have read by her. They are skillfully-written and thought-provoking. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances. It can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading the books I mentioned in my review first to appreciate Sawyer’s character. Plus, they’re awesome books, so you should read them anyway. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Samantha Whiskey is winning streak with WHEELER the eighth book in the Seattle Sharks series. Lukas Vestergaard hires his best friend Eric Gentry’s little sister, Faith, as his personal assistant. He struggles with keeping her off limits. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.

I love Lukas. He reminded me of Henrik Lundqvist: always well dressed, with model looks. They are both Swedish, but Lukas is not a goalie. Lukas is about to launch a new clothing line called Adrenaline. He needs to hire a personal assistant to help his work load. Lukas has been interested in Faith for Years, so he is hesitant to hire her.

Faith is a fun heroine. She is a student at the University of Washington. She wants to start a concierge public relations firm. She becomes Lukas’ personal assistant to get experience and the finances to pursue her goal. She is also attracted to Lukas but plans to keep it professional. I love that after working together they truly get to know one another.

The plot was entertaining and skillfully executed. Lukas and Faith have great chemistry and banter. I love that Faith calls him out on stuff. They are believable. They have very human emotions like lacking confidence at times. The last chapter before the Epilogue was perfect. It put a huge smile on my face. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Samantha Whiskey wins a shutout with BLOCKER, the fifth book in the Seattle Sharks series. Hockey goalie, Eric Gentry is one of the most focused and dedicated players on the Seattle Sharks. So, it is no surprise when the coach asks him to keep an eye on his daughter and the team’s new statistician, Pepper Harris. Coach wants to make sure no one on the team fraternizes with his daughter. However, Pepper and Eric have undeniable chemistry, and the question is, who is going to keep Eric away from Pepper? This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.

Samantha Whiskey does a great job with her character development. I love Pepper and Eric. They are both a bit nerdy. They are responsible and hard working. Eric is a good guy. His family means the world to him. Pepper has always been second to hockey with the men throughout her life, until Eric. I enjoyed the relationship between Pepper and her identical twin, Ivy. They are opposite personality wise. I like that they are devoted to each other no matter what.

The plot was entertaining and interesting. I love the Iron Man scenario. BLOCKER is a fun read that was hard to put down. The story had a solid ending. I look forward to the next book to the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Seattle Sharks Enforcer, Rory Jackson, strikes a deal with future CEO, Paige Turner. They enter an exclusive three-month relationship to help clean up his reputation, while she checks off some items on her dirty-girl bucket list. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.

ENFORCER is a fun and entertaining story. The plot was interesting and expertly laid out. The characters are very different from one another but compatible. I love that they both were interested in the other, but that it took this deal for them to do something about getting together.

I like Rory. He is a bad-boy hockey player. He had a difficult childhood that contributed to his bad temper that is always getting him in trouble. Despite being one of the best hockey players in the league he feels he is unworthy of Paige. I love that he treats her differently than every other woman he has been with.

Paige is a noble heroine. She truly cares about the well-being of others, contribution to charitable efforts. She is smart and innovating. She has a big heart. I appreciate that she stands up to her father.

Rory and Paige have some interesting conflicts to overcome in this story. Since they are both high profile individuals, they need to worry about media attention. They both grow and evolve into better people. They bring the best out in each other.

ENFORCER was skillfully written and felt well concluded. This is the first novel that I have read by Samantha Whiskey. I plan on backtracking and reading book one in the series, GRINDER. I liked Gage and Baily in this book, so I’m interested in reading their story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
