Fish Out of Water (A Gemini Novella) by Hailey Edwards Review

Fish Out of Water (A Gemini Novella)Fish Out of Water by Hailey Edwards
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hailey Edwards’ FISH OUT OF WATER is an excellent addition to the Gemini series. Changeling mermaid, Harlow Bevans, was possessed by Charybdis in the prior Gemini stories. Now she is at Edelweiss Mental Institution to help heal from her trauma. She ends up investigating a series of murders that are happening at Edelweiss. This urban fantasy is suitable for adult audiences.

I like Harlow and was happy Hailey Edwards wrote her story. She was put through a lot while working as a consultant for the Earthen Conclave. I could not imagine having to go through what she did. She is an intelligent and strong character.

Officer Carter Lam is a great character. He was a good person to have on Harlow’s side. He made her experience better. He has some interesting talents that help with the story.

I like that Bianca Parsons from the Lorimar Pack was also at Edelweiss recovering from her encounter with Charybdis. What happened to her was dreadful.

The plot was clever and well-written. There were many twists that held my attention. I love the ending. FISH OUT OF WATER is a great complement to the Gemini series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Hell or High Water (Gemini #3) by Hailey Edwards Review

Hell or High Water (Gemini, #3)Hell or High Water by Hailey Edwards
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hailey Edwards’s HELL OR HIGH WATER (Gemini #3) takes place where book two, HEAD ABOVE WATER, left off. Camille Ellis and Cord Graeson are now the alphas of the Lorimar pack. Aunt Dot and Isaac have been abducted, and there is still a case to solve. This urban fantasy is suitable for adults.

I think it is great that Cord and Camille break off from the Chandler Pack to start the Lorimar Pack. I like how Cord came up with the name. I love that the Lorimar pack is open-minded and willing to break tradition. I love that Cammie finally feels like she fits in somewhere. The pack has some interesting and dangerous obstacles to overcome.

I like that Isaac’s twin Theo helps with Aunt Dot and Isaac’s rescue. I’m glad that Camille and Theo are able to work some things out. We discover some fascinating things about Camille’s twin and parents. The plot was well done. I love how all the details are falling together. I like how the story ended, and I look forward to reading Dell Preston’s story in the first book of the Lorimar Park Series.

Head Above Water (Gemini #2) by Hailey Edwards Review

Head Above Water (Gemini, #2)Head Above Water by Hailey Edwards
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

HEAD ABOVE WATER (Gemini #2) by Hailey Edwards continues right after book one left off. Camille Ellis follows beta wolf, Cord Graeson, to Georgia and Chandler Pack territory. The two pretend to be mated; simultaneously, dealing with the warg’s suspicion of Fae and trying to uncover her case. This urban fantasy is suitable for adults.

I like Camille. She is smart and strong. The tragedy of her twin’s death haunts her. She finally agrees to work with her cousin Isaac to develop her magic. Cord is a good leader. He is brave and loyal to those he cares about.

The plot was full of twist and excitement. There are a lot of pack drama and politics. Charybdis is still proving to be a challenging opponent. They discover some interesting details about his motives. Then there is the chemistry between Camille and Cord. This story was entertaining from start to finish. I look forward to reading book three, HELL OR HIGH WATER, to see what happens next.

Masters Of The Hunt: Fated and Forbidden Anthology Review

Masters Of The Hunt: Fated and ForbiddenMasters Of The Hunt: Fated and Forbidden by Elianne Adams

Masters Of The Hunt: Fated and Forbidden is an excellent anthology. This box set has a huge variety of fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal, and romance stories. I love anthologies because it is the best of both worlds. You get books from authors you know and trust. For me that is the following: Hailey Edwards, Ann Gimpel, Crista McHugh, Amber Ella Monroe, and Annie Nicholas. Plus, you get to try new authors that you have been meaning to read or are new to you, for me that includes: Elianne Adams, Nicole Ciacchella, Sarra Cannon, Ramona Gray, Charlene Hartnady, Ellis Leigh, Anna Lowe, Anne Marsh, Diana St. Gabriel, Holley Trent, and Tina Moss. Sixteen great stories, you cannot go wrong.

I love that these are full-length stories. There was only one book in the anthology I already read: Hailey Edwards’ Heir of the Dog. I love that book/series. The rest were all new and exciting. They were all great reads that were very different.

Old Dog, New Tricks (Black Dog #4) by Hailey Edwards Review

Old Dog, New Tricks (Black Dog, #4)Old Dog, New Tricks by Hailey Edwards
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hailey Edwards Old Dog, New Tricks is a great addition to the Black Dog Series. Thierry’s mother-in-law, the Morrigan, is threatening to gain access to the mortal realm. The marshal’s office was attached, and Shaw is missing. This action-packed urban fantasy has one exciting scene after the next.

I love Thierry. She is a great heroine with a lot of depth. She continually grows and fights for justice. The Morrigan is the ultimate antagonist. She is wicked and ruthless. The plot was carefully thought out exhilarating. The story was full of foreshadowing. I love Hailey Edwards’ use of mythology and modern twists. If you enjoy contemporary stories based on myth you want to read this series. I would definitely start with book one and not jump ahead.

Dead in the Water (Gemini #1) by Hailey Edwards Review

Dead in the Water (Gemini #1)Dead in the Water by Hailey Edwards
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hailey Edwards is off to an incredible start with Dead in the Water the first book in the Gemini Series. Earthen Conclave member, Agent Camille Ellis, is sent to investigate a serial murder of a supernatural child. The most-recent victim’s brother, Cord Graeson, Beta of the Georgia Warg Pack, becomes involved with the case to seek justice for his sister.

I like Camille. She is a Gemini, a type of Fae that is born twins. They can classify any Fae after a touch. They can also temporarily absorb the best qualities of other Fae. My heart went out to Camille for the loss of her twin. My heart also went out to Cord for the loss of his sister. Camille and Cord have an intense relationship that keeps the story interesting.

I love that Thierry and Shaw from Hailey Edwards’ Black Dog series make an appearance in this story.

I really enjoyed the plot. It was full of mystery and interesting twists. There was controversy, hidden agenda, and lots of action. I loved the ending and cannot wait for the next book. If you like Hailey Edwards’ Black Dog Series, you will definitely want to check out Dead in the Water.
