Head Above Water by Hailey Edwards
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
HEAD ABOVE WATER (Gemini #2) by Hailey Edwards continues right after book one left off. Camille Ellis follows beta wolf, Cord Graeson, to Georgia and Chandler Pack territory. The two pretend to be mated; simultaneously, dealing with the warg’s suspicion of Fae and trying to uncover her case. This urban fantasy is suitable for adults.
I like Camille. She is smart and strong. The tragedy of her twin’s death haunts her. She finally agrees to work with her cousin Isaac to develop her magic. Cord is a good leader. He is brave and loyal to those he cares about.
The plot was full of twist and excitement. There are a lot of pack drama and politics. Charybdis is still proving to be a challenging opponent. They discover some interesting details about his motives. Then there is the chemistry between Camille and Cord. This story was entertaining from start to finish. I look forward to reading book three, HELL OR HIGH WATER, to see what happens next.
