The bloody, raw meat was tantalizing her; calling to her. She hated it and yearned for it all at once. Stop, she ordered. What are you doing?! So hungryyyyy, snarled a primal voice deep within her. Don’t you dare! she screamed back. But the primal hunger ignored her pleas and took over her body, forcing her rational voice deep within the crevices of her mind.
What would you do if you discovered you weren't human? That you turned into a bloodthirsty monster against your will? What if your instincts, emotions and desires were torn between your own and the dark, dangerous animal lurking inside of you? If it could make you yearn for someone you shouldn't, make you say and act in ways you wouldn't and overwhelm your whole existence? If everything you'd ever known about your life was a lie?
In a world where a deeply hidden community is swathed in mystery, deadly secrets, betrayal and murder, Jaz Barker struggles to fight against the dangerous Beast within her and the emotions and desires it thrusts her way.
When tensions ride high and people she cares about are put in danger, she will have to decide how much of her newly awakened animal-side she's willing to let in.
And if it is worth the risk...

She has written various novels and short stories in her lifetime but has only recently decided to publish. Pinterest and Tumblr keep her busy, as does reading, drawing, painting and watching films. That's if she gets time to do any of these things with a three-year-old jumping around.

I would like to welcome Jasmine Barker from A. Z. Green's Beasthood for stopping by for an interview.
What is your name? Do you have a nickname?
Jasmine Barker, though I found out recently my real last name is Kormak. And people call me Jaz for short. I don't like my full name unless it's my parents calling me by it. I'm also called Skin by my new Were friends. Don't ask.
What is your hair color? Eye color?
I say brown, some people say red. I guess auburn. And I have central heterochromia in both eyes, so they're green and blue. Life can't just be simple, can it?
How old are you?
Where were you born? Where have you lived since then? Where do you currently call home?
I was born in Sheffield and have lived there all my life, until recently. Now Deer Creek is my home, though I don't know how long that will last.
What is in your refrigerator right now?
Tons of meat. I need a lot of iron otherwise I get severe anaemia.
On your bedroom floor?
Most of my clothes, and my suitcase. I'm not sure whether to pack them into drawers yet.
On your nightstand?
A clock and my large collection of over-sized statement rings. I love jewellery.
In your garbage can?
Used hemlock leaves, tissues, nail polish. I use a lot of it.
Who are the people you are closest to?
I'm not even sure anymore. Things that have happened have changed my perspective. I've always been close to my parents, though now I don't know what to think about them. My new friends Alf, Skye, Ronnie, Kenna and Kelda have been so kind and welcoming. I feel closest to Nik thanks to this annoying connection we have. But I'm scared to get close to him.
Who is your funniest friend?
Alf, by far. He's the joker of the group, though Kenna has her crazy moments.
What is your biggest fear?
Right now... becoming a Werebeast. They say it will happen. And I'm terrified. I have nightmares about it.
What is your most treasured possession?
I'm not one to hold on to materialistic things. But ever since I found my dead twin sister's diary, it's taken top place of my most treasured items. They're her words. The sister I never knew. It can't get more precious than that.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
I'd like to pretend there is no love-interest in my life. But then I feel like I'm lying to myself. Can you hate the person you love?
What is your favorite journey?
I haven't been many places, but going to Deer Creek was my least favourite, that I can tell you.
Which living person do you most despise?
The person who murdered my sister. And Fraya is probably second on my list. She made my sister's life a misery. And now she's doing the same to me.
What is your greatest regret?
I have many. Not showing my parents how much I loved them. Getting into the car with Erica and coming to Deer Creek. Not knowing my sister. But these are things that happened beyond my control.
Which talent would you most like to have?
The ability to switch off emotions and desires. It'd make life easier.
What is the quality you most like in a man/woman?
In a man, loyalty. I fear being betrayed the most. In a woman... probably the same. My life is balanced on crumbling foundations. I need people I can trust.
What do you most value in your friends?
Their ability to take me away from my troubles, and the fact they brought me into their fold without question, and made it so easy, even when I gave them a tough time.
Who is your favorite hero of fiction? In real life?
Heroine in fiction, I'd go with Jane Eyre. Hero, Mr Knightly from Emma. They're strong, admirable characters. Someone I'd like to be. And I admire my grandmother, Maria. We haven't known each other long, and I was angry at first that she didn't know about me until recently. But after everything she has been through -losing her partner, suffering the loss of her granddaughter (my sister) and all the other crap in her life- I respect her for it. I look up to her because of it.
Which living person do you most admire?
I guess my answer above answers this too.
Which words or phrases do you most overuse? I'm not sure. I say 'Seriously?!” when I'm pretty annoyed about something. I guess you'd have to figure it out for yourself.
What is your motto?
Don't be a monster, even when you become one in the flesh.
