Callum (Pittsburgh Titans, #12) by Sawyer Bennet Review

Callum (Pittsburgh Titans #12)Callum by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennet is heating things up with CALLUM (Pittsburgh Titans, #12). This is Pittsburgh Titans GM Callum Derringer’s and Juniper Ryan’s story. Callum is reunited with his first love, Juniper, when he goes home to see his mother in the hospital. Breaking up with Juniper was his biggest mistake. To make thing more complicated she is now married to his stepbrother, Joshua Willard. When he discovers the bruises on Juniper inflicted by Joshua, Callum vows to protect her.

Sawyer Bennet does an amazing job with this story. My heart went out to Juniper. She endured a lot to help her father. I love that Juniper and Callum get a second chance. The characters are wonderful and well developed. They face compelling challenges. There is an ideal among of past and present situations.

CALLUM is the perfect addition to the Pittsburgh Titans series. I am looking forward to Foster’s story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Boone (Pittsburgh Titans #11) Sawyer Bennett Review

Boone (Pittsburgh Titans #11)Boone by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sawyer Bennett outdid herself with BOONE (Pittsburgh Titans #11). First line forward Boone Rivers spends a lot of his time off the ice volunteering at the children’s hospital. He befriends 12-year-old Aiden Hoffman, who is suffering from leukemia. Boone meets Aiden’s older sister, Lilly. He is impressed by her strength and dedication. He feels a need to help the Hoffman family and becomes more invested with them as he continues to spend time with them.

I loved this story. Sawyer Bennett did an incredible job. BOONE is a heartfelt read. I do not think I have ever cried so hard from reading a book. This story really affected me. When my son was a sophomore in high school, he had two types of pneumonia that went to sepsis and collapsed his lung. It was a scary time. He is fine now. He was nowhere near as bad off as Aiden. However, I felt that I could relate to the Hoffman family.

BOONE is skillfully written and thought-provoking. The characters are dimensional and amazing. BOONE truly is an exceptional addition to the Pittsburgh Titans series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Bain (Pittsburgh Titans, #9) Sawyer Bennet Review

Bain (Pittsburgh Titans, #9)Bain by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hockey defenseman Bain Hillridge was traded from the Arizona Vengeance to the Pittsburgh Titans. He starts to have a secret “friends with benefits” relationship with Kiera McGinn. Kiera is the sister of Titan's goalie Drake McGinn (DRAKE, Pittsburgh Titans #5).

I love Bain and Kiera. They are both anti relationships but due to their amazing chemistry cannot just have a one-nightstand. They agree to have a friend with benefits relationship. I was entertained by their banter. They face a life-changing event. I enjoyed watching them both grow.

I love that this story takes place at the same time as CAMDEN, Pittsburgh Titans #8. It was fun seeing some of the same events from a different perspective. Part of this story takes place a year after the plane crash. There is a heartfelt memorial service. BAIN is an amazing addition to the Pittsburgh Titans series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Camden by Sawyer Bennett

NEW RELEASE! Camden (Pittsburgh Titans, Book #8) Sawyer Bennett Release Date: August 1, 2023

Camden Poe is the last of The Lucky Three, the surviving Pittsburgh Titans who weren’t on the team plane the night it went down. By all outward appearances, he’s adjusted to post-crash life well but inside he’s wrestling with the guilt of living. The catastrophe that killed the Pittsburgh Titans changed my entire world. My teammates were more than my friends—they were my brothers. I mourned their loss with the rest of the nation but then I did as I’ve been taught… I moved on. I focused on returning to the ice with the newly rebuilt team and put the tragedy behind me. Considering the circumstances, I adjusted well. Or so I thought. Now I’m plagued by nightmares of the crash and my play has suffered as a result. Facing the possibility of losing my place on the team, I need to pull myself together and fast. My buddy and linemate, Mitch Brandt died in the crash, leaving his wife Danica and son Travis behind to pick up the pieces of their shattered family. After reconnecting with Danica at a support group meeting, I find myself inexplicably drawn to helping her and her son move forward. What starts as two friends finding solace in one another following a tragedy becomes something more, leaving us both wondering if we deserve this chance. I feel as if I’m walking a precarious line between a man falling for an incredible woman and a man moving in on his dead friend’s wife. But one thing is crystal clear—I’ve found a peace with Danica that I wasn’t sure I’d ever have again. Now I need to find the confidence within myself to push past the insecurities and make sure she knows how important she is to me because if I don’t, I’ll lose the one thing that makes me truly complete.

Camden (Pittsburgh Titans, #8) Sawyer Bennet Review

Camden (Pittsburgh Titans, #8)Camden by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Camden Poe is one of the “lucky three” that survived after not being on the Pittsburgh Titans plane crash. His friend and teammate Mitch Brandt was not as fortunate, leaving behind his wife Danica and their son Travis. A year later, Camden reconnects with Danica at a support group. He feels compelled to help her out but conflicted about falling for his dead friend’s wife.

CAMDEN is a heartening and thought-provoking read. Camden was not on the plane when it crashed because he was recovering from knee surgery. He has survivor’s guilt. Danica is the director of the Adam Norcross Charitable Foundation set up by Brienne (the team owner) to help families of deceased or incapacitated athletes. Danica and Camden handled their grief differently. Camden sort of avoided it and is now suffering from nightmares.

CAMDEN is skillfully written and touching. It had me smiling and crying. It is an excellent addition to the Pittsburge Titans series. I am looking forward to Bain Hillridge’s story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
