My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Camden Poe is one of the “lucky three” that survived after not being on the Pittsburgh Titans plane crash. His friend and teammate Mitch Brandt was not as fortunate, leaving behind his wife Danica and their son Travis. A year later, Camden reconnects with Danica at a support group. He feels compelled to help her out but conflicted about falling for his dead friend’s wife.
CAMDEN is a heartening and thought-provoking read. Camden was not on the plane when it crashed because he was recovering from knee surgery. He has survivor’s guilt. Danica is the director of the Adam Norcross Charitable Foundation set up by Brienne (the team owner) to help families of deceased or incapacitated athletes. Danica and Camden handled their grief differently. Camden sort of avoided it and is now suffering from nightmares.
CAMDEN is skillfully written and touching. It had me smiling and crying. It is an excellent addition to the Pittsburge Titans series. I am looking forward to Bain Hillridge’s story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
