It's Our Time (Carolina Rebels #3) by Lindsay Paige Review

It's Our Time (Carolina Rebels, #3)It's Our Time by Lindsay Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lindsay Paige scores with IT’S OUR TIME, the third book of the Carolina Rebels series.  Since he was a teenager, NHL defenseman, Ian Rhett, has only wanted one woman, Sydney Jarvis. Mistakes were made, and secrets were kept. Ian’s goal is to convince Sydney to give their relationship another shot. This contemporary sports romance takes place in North Carolina. It is suitable for adult audiences.

Lindsay Paige does a great job with her character development. Ian and Sydney are believable and likeable. They have faults and grow through the story. They have known each other for six-years; however, they still have a lot to learn about each other. They have wonderful chemistry. They are two people you want to see work things out. Savannah is cute. I love the things that came out of her mouth.

The plot was well laid out and convincing. I like how the previous characters in the series were utilized throughout this book. There was a lot of family drama that caused complications. I enjoy Lindsay Paige’s writing style. Her stories are genuine and heartfelt. I am looking forward to Scott and Sylvia Boyd’s story the next book in the series, AN UNEXPECTED LIFE. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Because It's You (Carolina Rebels #2) by Lindsay Paige Review

Because It's You (Carolina Rebels, #2)Because It's You by Lindsay Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lindsay Paige scored again with BECAUSE IT'S YOU the second book from the Carolina Rebels series. I have been looking forward to hearing Marc Polinski’s and Elizabeth Boyd’s story since the first book, BACK TO ME. The story starts off at the Halloween party from book one and takes place around the same time frame. I loved hearing the story for both Marc’s and Lizzy’s point of views. Both characters are well-developed and complex. They have amazing chemistry and are likeable. They have multiple issues in their past that make their relationship challenging. My heart went out to both characters.

I’m glad Lizzy has Sylvia and Scott. Elizabeth is the widow of Scott’s brother, Roger. She has had a difficult time dealing with his death even though it has been close to six years since he past. Sylvia decides to set her up with Scott’s Carolina Rebels NHL teammate, Marc Polinski. Despite all their issues and secrets, the two start to see each other, eventually healing one another in the process. They are perfect for each other.

I love Marc. He has a huge heart. He had a difficult childhood that still haunts him, although you would never guess it from his typically happy personality. I think it’s great that his friends call him Marco Polo because of his last name. I enjoyed how they always say Marco Polo to each other. Elizabeth is sweet and has carried many burdens. I love how the couple opens-up to one another.

The plot was amazing with tons of interesting twists. BECAUSE IT'S YOU was skillfully written and flowed well. The hockey scenes were credible and exciting. The story was heartfelt. There were unexpected thrilling turns of events. The story had everything you could want in a sports romance. I cannot wait for the next book in the series US AT FIRST. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Back to Me by Lindsay Paige: Giveaway

Back to Me
Lindsay Paige
(Carolina Rebels #1)
Publication date: October 4th 2016
Genres: Adult, Romance, Sports

Noah Ramsey has a great hockey career, wonderful parents, and a good best friend, but what he wants most is to be with the love of his life who walked away from him years ago. When he finds her at the airport, he realizes she’s changed, and she’s struggling with things she doesn’t want to tell him about. Noah also realizes just how much she scarred him when she left.
Meredith Quick has always planned everything out. She chose her tennis career over love in order to better succeed, but her plan dissolves when an injury threatens her career and her fiancé leaves her. Struggling through pain and the uncertainty of her future, she realizes her first misstep was walking away from Noah. She impulsively decides to go back to him while she attempts to put her life back together.
Reacquainting isn’t easy when Noah doesn’t quite trust Meredith to stay and Meredith struggles with overcoming the pain she’s endured without him. Can they work through their issues and move forward, or will their past ruin things between them forever?

EXCERPT:

“Tell me about you.”
He tilts his head back to lean against the seat. I’m not sure what it means that he’s not looking at me as he speaks. “Well, I love playing as a pro. It’s been a bit frustrating at times, but I wouldn’t trade it. My teammates are great, too. Maybe you can meet one or two of them while you’re here.”
“I’d like that. What about your family?”
“You already know Ashley had a baby. She’s been married to Oliver for about a year now. She met him in college and he proposed the day after they graduated. Mom and Dad are doing well, too. Dad spends his time on the golf course while Mom makes quilts and does whatever it is she does with her friends. Not much has changed with them. I would ask about your family, but I already know. And since you don’t want to talk about you, I’m not sure if I should ask how you’ve been.”
He does know how they are because according to my parents, he talks to them almost as often as he talks to his own parents. He’s right, too. I don’t want him to ask how I’ve been because if I start talking, I might become a crazy, blubbering mess. “Tell me what you know about my life instead.” Then, I’ll find out how much he knows about Vance. How much he knows about my disastrous life. I’m not sure what he talks about with my parents or how much information my mom provides about me.
“I know you’ve hated dealing with your injury, you’re worried you’ll be forced to leave the game early, and you don’t talk about it if you can help it. From what I hear, you also refuse to talk about your engagement and why it ended. Your parents are worried about you, too. That’s all I know, Mere. You mom only gives me brief updates. She knows I want to know how you’re doing, but she doesn’t want to say too much either, out of respect to you.” He pauses as a flight attendant checks on us and then focuses his attention on me again. “Am I crazy for hoping you’ll talk to me about those things?”
“Yes.” I don’t want to, not yet. Just like I want to find out if he has a girlfriend, but I’m too scared to ask right now.
Noah nods, not looking surprised at all. He leans his head against the seat again, facing forward. “I’ve missed you, Meredith.” Four quietly spoken words that echo loudly in my heart as if he just shouted them.
I glance away, deciding the cloud-filled sky is a more preferable view than this handsome man next to me. “I’ve missed you, too,” I whisper. More than he could ever imagine.

Back to Me (Carolina Rebels #1) by Lindsay Paige Review

Back to Me (Carolina Rebels, #1)Back to Me by Lindsay Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lindsay Paige’s BACK TO ME is an amazing start to the Carolina Rebels Series. Tennis star Meredith Quick suffers a potential career-ending injury. After reflecting on her situation, she realizes she made a mistake when she broke up with her ex-boyfriend, hockey player Noah Ramsey. She heads to Raleigh, North Carolina in hopes of rekindling their relationship. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for new adult and adult audiences.

Lindsay Paige does a great job with her character development. My heart went out to Meredith. She had some difficult experiences. Everything seemed to be going wrong, and she had no direction. I admire her for going after the one person in her life she loved but gave up, Noah. It took a lot of guts to get on that plane. I could understand why she originally gave him up. They were young at the time they started dating. They had their entire lives ahead of them. Both of them had promising athletic careers; her in tennis and him in hockey. Sometimes it takes a tragedy in life for a person to reprioritize what is really important to them.

I really like Noah. He has always loved Meredith. Enough to have her name tattooed above his heart. I love that he never had it removed or tattooed over. I also appreciated that everyone knows about the tattoo and what their reaction is when they meet Meredith. I think it is great that he kept in touch with Meredith’s family. Noah has wonderful teammates who are like a family. I especially like Marc.

I really enjoy Lindsay Paige’s writing style. She does a great job of making you understand the characters. The plot is credible and heartfelt. I like how faith intervenes in the story. Erica and Vance both cause some interesting conflicts. There are a number of compelling things that happen in the story that kept it exciting. Lindsay Paige does a fabulous job with all her descriptions. She makes it easy to visualize everything that is happening, especially the sports. I really like Meredith and Noah together. I like how the story is resolved. BACK TO ME is an excellent foundation for the Carolina Rebels Series. I am looking forward to Elizabeth and Marc’s story in book two, BECAUSE IT’S YOU, and enjoyed the preview at the end of BACK TO ME.

Penguins Win!

Here are the hockey romance authors that selected the Pittsburgh Penguins to win the 2016 Stanley Cup!

The following authors selected Sidney Crosby to win the Conn Smythe Trophy!

I would like to thank all the authors for participating in this event.  It has been a lot of fun.  I will definitely do it again next year.

Now we have to wait patiently for next hockey season.  Guess we will have to get our hockey fix by reading some hockey romance novels.

Thanks Everyone!
