Wolf Bond, The Venn Pack in Love 2 by Elodie Parkes Review

Wolf Bond, The Venn Pack in Love 2Wolf Bond, The Venn Pack in Love 2 by Elodie Parkes
My rating: 4 1/2 of 5 Stars

Wolf Bond by Elodie Parkes is a wonderful addition to The Venn Pack in Love series. The story is full of excitement and has an excellent plot suitable for an adult and new adult audience. This contemporary story takes place in a small US town that has recently been revived as a tourist destination. Wolf shifter and Private Investigator, Eden Farrell, relocates to the community to seek out his long-lost cousin. He meets the Alpha’s sister and local café owner, Liberty Venn. They are instantly attracted to one another and form a bond. Problem is the dangers from his profession follow him.

Elodie Parkes does a great job carrying over issues from the first book, Surprising the Alpha, to this second book in the series, Wolf Bond. For example, the wolves being able to mask their scent to hide from the hunters played an important roll. Her characters are well-developed and believable. Liberty is a fun heroine. She has been lonely until Eden enters into her life. I had a lot of respect for Eden. He suffered some tragedies in his youth. As a result, he wanted to pursue a profession that would allow him to do some good in the world. He is brave and determined. The two make a magnetic couple. I loved the mystery in the plot. I though the case that Eden was working on was fascinating and tied in well with the series. Some interesting things come into play toward the end of the story that I’m looking forward to reading about in the next book. Wolf Bond had a satisfying conclusion that I enjoyed.

Surprising the Alpha: The Venn Pack in Love by Elodie Parkes Review

Surprising the Alpha: The Venn Pack in LoveSurprising the Alpha: The Venn Pack in Love by Elodie Parkes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Surprising the Alpha: The Venn Pack in Love by Elodie Parkes, is a believable and entertaining paranormal romance novel that is appropriate for an adult and new adult audience. This wolf-shifter story takes place in a contemporary setting of a dying town in the United States. Joshua Venn, alpha of the Venn Pack feels pressure to save his people from the failing economy of their hometown. When urban regeneration entrepreneurs Dani Cruz and her brother Jason waltz into town to help save the day, all he feels for the siblings is resentment and a determination to be the person to save his pack.

Elodie Parkes did an excellent job creating a heartwarming story for the first book in the Venn Pack in Love Series, Surprising the Alpha. I felt bad for Joshua. He did not really get the respect from his pack that most Alphas I have read about do. That being said, his pack was small and made up of his siblings. Therefore, the fact that they gave him a hard time is very credible. He has doubts about his ability to be a good leader which makes his character realistic. Dani is a surprising heroine. She is smart and determined. The two have an intense chemistry that is fun to read about. I like that Dani and Jason wanted to save the town because their grandparents fell in love with it while they were on vacation there many years earlier. The story was well-written and full of details. I enjoyed the plot and its resolution to the story. It had some unexpected twists that held me captivated.

EXCERPT:

18+ erotic excerpt Desire flared low in his stomach. He let it take him over. He knew his next kiss was searching, needy, hard. He grasped one of her breasts and kneaded, the softness drove him crazy. His cock, fully erect now, pushed at his pants. He sighed into her mouth. “I want you so much.” He relished the hard peak of her nipple through her T-shirt. He bent his head and sucked. When she ran her fingers into his hair, he felt the pressure in them, and moved away. He could see her nipple now through the soft white fabric in the wet patch he made. He looked into her eyes. “I said I wouldn’t rush you next time, but it’s killing me already.” Emily stood. She pulled her T-shirt off, followed by the skirt. Chris reached out and grasped her hips, pulling her to his mouth as he leaned forward. He kissed her stomach, and slid his palms over her ass to cup her there with his fingertips pushed inside the lace of her panties. She held his head as he kissed across her stomach to each hipbone where he nibbled. Chris heard her sighs grow ragged. He liked her pretty panties, but he wanted them off her. He yanked them down her thighs, and calves, bending to thrust his tongue into the cleft of her pussy. It delighted him that she was shaved there. Emily arched to his face. The scent of her creaming pussy called to him. He let her go. The need to pull her down and fuck her hard was scary. It tore right into his wish not to rush her. His thoughts filled with pictures of holding her thighs apart and pounding his erection into her pussy. His cock leaked and his balls ached. She stood before him naked. He gazed up into her eyes. “Take your pants off. If I don’t have you inside me soon…” The need in her voice soothed his fear. Chris took his pants off. His cock bumped on his stomach muscles sending hot pre-cum streaking across them. He stood to pull Emily into his arms and kiss her lips. He plunged a hand between her thighs. The wet welcome there sent spears of sensation right through his body. He was on fire with the need to bury his cock in her, but he pushed his fingers into her pussy to make sure he wouldn’t hurt her when he fucked her. Her folds swollen, her cream flowed on his fingers. The air was laden with the erotic perfume of sex. His urgency brought his kisses down her neck along the soft place in her shoulder and he sucked.

Character Interview:

Please welcome Chris and Emily from Elodie Parkes's Café in the Park to Diane's Book Blog.

Hi, Chris, Emily.

Hi, Diane, Thank you for inviting us.

So let’s start with some descriptions for the readers. How about you describe Chris, Emily and then he can describe you. (smiles)

Emily:

Chris is over six feet tall; he’s a muscled guy and has a yummy waist and that sexy V shape that goes down into his black jeans. (she stops because Chris is smiling and gives her a hug)

His hair is dark, almost black, but not quite and its collar length right now, but he sometimes gets this cute cut and it sticks up then…so sexy…His eyes are such a fabulous blue and as I tell him in the book, they’re like a fantasy ocean color. There’s something special about his eyes, but I can’t give spoilers. (grins)

He’s often in black jean, and leather jacket but I’ve seen him wear a suit.

His name is a modern variant of his ancient name, so he’s just called Chris Donato. (she holds his hand)

I don’t know his real age but he looks about 27 or 28.

He’s a musician, a businessman, and very generous.

His lovemaking is to die for… he’s my dream come true.

(Now Chris leans over and kisses her, better get him talking he’s looking dangerously sexy)

Okay so Chris, describe Emily for us.

Chris:

Emily is lovely and loveable. She’s smart and brave. She’s sexy. I never asked how old she is, but I figure about twenty-eight. She has blue eyes. Her hair is sort of warm brown and sometimes full of sunshine. It’s long and soft, like satin in my fingers. She’s gentle and I’m so lucky to have found her.

(He kisses her fingertips and clasps her hand to his heart.)
I can’t tell you the details, but we nearly lost each other, and that scared me to death. Oh, her name was Emily McKenzie, but now that’s changed.

She likes music and books. (he grins)

Thank you for those descriptions. Tell the readers where were you born Chris.

Chris:  Well now this will surprise you, I was born in Rome. I know I have no accent at all, that’s ‘cos it’s been so long since I was there.

What about you Emily?

I was born in England and we live there now.

Either of you can answer these questions.

What is in your refrigerator right now?

Chris:  Orange juice, mineral water, steak, salad, fruit…

On your bedroom floor?

Emily:  Tiles, sort of stone tiles.

On your nightstand?

Chris:  Not much actually. A lamp. A cell phone when I leave one there. Water each night.

In your garbage can?

Chris:  No idea. (Laughs) Do you know, Emily?

Emily:  What would we have discarded this week? We re-cycle lots. Maybe there’s some used kitchen towel, a packet that will not re-cycle, that sort of stuff

Who are the people you are closest to?

Chris:  Emily and Art.

Emily:  Chris and Art.

What is your biggest fear?

Chris: Losing Emily I guess, but then I’m fixing that potential.

What is your most treasured possession?

Chris: Emily, well she’s not strictly my possession, but nothing means as much to me as Emily.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?

They both laugh.

Emily: naturally Chris is.

What do you most value in your friends?

Chris: I have to say loyalty, ability to keep a secret.

Emily: Understanding. Not questioning my decisions too deeply.

Thank you for visiting today.

Chris:  It’s been great, thank you.

Emily:  Thank you and thank you to all the people who read, Café in the Park, we hope that you enjoy it.
