Wolf Bond by Elodie Parkes is a wonderful addition to The Venn Pack in Love series. The story is full of excitement and has an excellent plot suitable for an adult and new adult audience. This contemporary story takes place in a small US town that has recently been revived as a tourist destination. Wolf shifter and Private Investigator, Eden Farrell, relocates to the community to seek out his long-lost cousin. He meets the Alpha’s sister and local café owner, Liberty Venn. They are instantly attracted to one another and form a bond. Problem is the dangers from his profession follow him.
Elodie Parkes does a great job carrying over issues from the first book, Surprising the Alpha, to this second book in the series, Wolf Bond. For example, the wolves being able to mask their scent to hide from the hunters played an important roll. Her characters are well-developed and believable. Liberty is a fun heroine. She has been lonely until Eden enters into her life. I had a lot of respect for Eden. He suffered some tragedies in his youth. As a result, he wanted to pursue a profession that would allow him to do some good in the world. He is brave and determined. The two make a magnetic couple. I loved the mystery in the plot. I though the case that Eden was working on was fascinating and tied in well with the series. Some interesting things come into play toward the end of the story that I’m looking forward to reading about in the next book. Wolf Bond had a satisfying conclusion that I enjoyed.

Single dad and Alpha of the Mystic Wolves, Niall Malik, finds an injured woman in his territory that lost her memory. His Perfect Wolf by Elle Boon is a heartwarming story with a sole parent who lost his true mate to an accident. Niall is still young, but he did not think he would ever find happiness in a mate again. Alaina Strop sparks a romantic interest in him that he thought was long dead since the death of his mate. Having lost her memory, Alaina is obviously uncertain about many things, but she has a good intuition while struggling to remember her past. Roger Strop and Rickard are cruel and dangerous antiheros that are chauvinistic and easy to dislike. They add suspense to His Perfect Wolf. The story takes place in the Mystic, South Dakota in a current time setting.
I have been looking forward to reading Niall’s story ever since I read book one, Accidentally Wolf. Elle Boon has a fantastic writing style that I truly enjoy. Elle Boon does a commendable job describing the events and surroundings. Niall is a worthy hero. I like that Niall is a good leader and father. He is a compassionate and strong person that will protect what is his. Alaina Strop is a fascinating character. I admired her for leaving her pack and seeking a better life. She is a brave and likeable character. Many interesting twists happen throughout this story. Elle Boon did a fantastic job developing multiple conflicts throughout the story. Her character development is thorough. The action was nonstop beginning to end. His Perfect Wolf by Elle Boon is a great story for anyone who enjoys paranormal shape shifter romances.

The Vampire by Sandrine Genier

While on vacation in New Orleans, Jason Sterling receives a job offer to be a personal assistant to L. L. Augere in Boston. While working for him, Jason notices strange occurrences and begins to worry about his life and the lives on those he loves.
Sandrine Genier’s The Vampire is a well-written book full of foreshadowing, symbolism, and mystery.
Jason is a worthy hero. Being Goth, he likes the freedom to be himself working for Augere, who does not mind how he dresses. I enjoyed his thought process and humor. He really thinks (and over thinks) things through. He interests in ghost, and paranormal investigation was unique. I also enjoyed his fascination with movies.
Augere is a captivating character. He has lived through so much. I love when he lets his dry humor out. He can be very amusing. He rightfully has some trust issues. He is a complex character that is intriguing.
The employees of the Genier law firm add a lot to the story. The concept of the family firm that has worked for the Augere’s for over one hundred years is clever.
I enjoyed the cultural and historical aspects of the story. The book takes place in numerous locations: New Orleans, Minnesota, Boston, Georgia, Italy, France, and Montreal. They are all so different and add variety to the novel.
Sandrine Genier does an amazing job with the plot and writing of The Vampire. It has been a long time since I picked up a book full of so much detail, foreshadowing, and symbolism. There is a lot going on in the story that makes you think. I will anxiously be awaiting the release of the next book to see where it takes us.
