Break the Ice by L.A. Cotton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
L.A. Cotton hits it in the net with BREAK TH ICE (Lakeshore U #1). Aurora “Rory” Hart moves in with her brother, Austin, and two of his hockey teammates when her dorm is flooded. Austin asks their roommate, Noah Holden, to show Rory around campus. On the outside the two are opposites. Noah is outgoing and a player. Rory is shy and a bookworm. They initially do not hit it off. As they get to know each other, they discover they both had traumatic childhoods and secrets.
BREAK TH ICE is a heartfelt read. The characters are dynamic. They grow. The story is skillfully written and thought-provoking. It is an excellent addition to the Lakeshore U series. I’m looking forward to Mason’s story, ON THIN ICE. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
