Little Lies by H. Hunting Review

Little LiesLittle Lies by H. Hunting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

H. Hunting has a game-winner with LITTLE LIES. This is the story of childhood friends Lavender Waters and Kodiak (Kody) Bowman. They had a falling-out and reconnect in college. Lavender Waters is the youngest daughter of Alex and Violet Waters from PUCKED (Pucked #1) written as Helena Hunting and FOREVER PUCKED (Pucked #4). Kodiak Bowman is the son of Rook and Lainey Bowman from A LIE FOR A LIE (All In #1) written as Helena Hunting. Kody is also the best friend and hockey teammate of the Waters’ oldest son, Maverick. This story primarily takes place in Chicago.

I adored LITTLE LIES. It is an emotional and heartfelt read. I love that this book includes the now college-aged children from the Pucked and All In Series. I also appreciated that both Lavender and Kody are still seeing Queenie from A SECRET FOR A SECRET (All In #3) as their therapist.

H. Hunting character development is phenomenal. Lavender and Kodiak had a unique and complicated relationship. They both suffer from anxiety and could relate to one another in a way other did not understand. Something happened in their youth that caused a falling out and impacted them both emotionally. When they end up at college together, they have some conflicts. I love that they get this opportunity to work things out because the two are truly soul mates. I enjoyed the role that their family and friends play as well, especially Lavnder’s twin, River.

H. Hunting did an amazing job with this book. I like how the story went back and forth in time. LITTLE LIES is skillfully written and thought-provoking. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
