Please welcome H. G. Lynch to Diane’s Book Blog. H.G. Lynch is the author of the Unfortunate Blood series, Run, Radioactive, and the stand-alone novel, Insane.
How long did it take you to write Run?
Three weeks. No joke, I was writing at least 8 hours a day. I was obsessed.
If you could be best friends with one of your characters, who would it be?
Well, Ember from my Unfortunate Blood series is basically my dark side come alive, so we'd get along great.
What inspired you to write your first book?
Bullying. I was bullied a lot in school, so I found an escape in writing, creating tough female characters.
What is your favorite book that you wrote?
Run is my favourite. It took a lot of thought and work, because it's got so many threads of plot which tie together. It was a delicate process to create a tapestry of love, lust and lies.
What books have most influenced your life?
The Vampire Diaries by LJ Smith were my first true literary love. They kicked off my teenage reading addiction.
Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Cassandra Clare. She has such an amazing ability to make you fall in love with her characters.
What do you prefer paperback, hardcover, or ebooks?
Paperback all the way. I love the smell of paper and ink, the feeling of pages under my fingers.
How do you overcome writer’s block?
With lots of Cola and finding the right playlist for the story.
What book are you reading now?
There's a few I've got on the go - Talon by Julie Kagawa, Ensnared by AG Howard and Feed by Mira Grant.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
READ MY BOOKS! Lol. ^_^

What is your full name? Do you have a nickname?
Reid Ashton. My nicknames include Asshole and The Sexiest Guy Ever.
What is your hair color? Eye color?
Fabulous blonde hair, gorgeous blue eyes - even if I do say so myself.
What is in your refrigerator right now? On your bedroom floor? On your nightstand? In your garbage can?
Blood, clothes, fire-crackers, condom wrappers (Hey, you asked)
Who are the people you are closest to?
Ricky is my best friend. We're like brothers. Have been since we were kids. But Ember is...she's my heart and soul.
What is your biggest fear?
Ladybugs. Don't laugh. They creep me out.
What is your most treasured possession?
Can I say my....no? Um...I don't know them.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
Ember. She's my everything.
Which living person do you most despise?
Joseph Rian. If he ever lays a hand on my girl again, he won't be living for much longer.
Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
I probably use too many swear words.
What is your motto?
I live life like I'll never die...because I'm a vampire. I'm immortal.
