Blitzing Emily by Julie Brannagh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Opera Diva, Emily Hamilton, helps her sister, Amy, out by making a Valentine delivery to the Seattle Shark’s headquarters.
NFL star, Brandon McKenna, is annoyed when he sees balloons with his name on them being delivered to the stadium from his stalker ex-girlfriend. He startles the delivery person who falls, getting a concussion. Feeling responsible he takes her to the emergency room.
Only family is allowed with the patients, so the nurse calls Brandon Emily’s fiancé. The next thing they know the rumor spread making the news. Discovering that being “engaged” is helping both of their careers the two decide to play along for a month and then stage a break up.
Blitzing Emily is a really cute story. It is fun and hard to put down. These two opposites make a fantastic pair. The more they learn about each other; they discover they are good for each other.
I love the bantering dialog between Emily and Brandon. Their conversations are very entertaining and will have you laughing.
Julie Brannagh did a great job with this story. After reading the preview of book Two, Rushing Amy, I am intrigued to read the next book. I have a feeling this is going to be a successful series.
