Kandi Steiner lights the lamp with SAVE YOUR BREATH (Kings of the Ice, #4). In this story, NHL bad boy Aleksander (Aleks) Suter and Pop Star Mia (Conaway) Love have been best friends since Aleks billeted with Mia’s family in high school. Both parties struggle with some bad unrelated PR. To help both of their careers their publicists suggest they fake date, become engaged, and eventually break up. However, both secretly have feelings for the other and things become complicated.

Kandi Steiner does an excellent job with this story. It is skillfully written and entertaining. I like Aleks and Mia together. They know each other better than anyone. They have some miscommunication and misunderstandings. I love that this PR situation happens and allows them to become a couple. SAVE YOUR BREATH is a heartwarming read.

I look forward to Carter’s and Livia’s story, book five, STAND YOUR GROUND. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Elise Faber and Kat Mizera hit a high note with HEARTBREAKER (Gamebreakers #2). Lead guitarist of the hit rock band, Midnight Sun, Royal Ewing, has his career ended by an injury. He writes a hit crossover song for rising country star Jade Cantrell. After a one-night-stand, they decide to keep it professional and write an album together. However, it becomes difficult to deny their chemistry.

Elise Faber and Kat Mizera did an excellent job collaborating on this story. It is a heartfelt and entertaining read. The characters are likable and dimensional. They are good for one another. I enjoyed the narrative.

Heartbreaker is an excellent addition to the Gamebreakers series. I am looking forward to Dash’s story, DEALBREAKER. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Kat Mizera heats things up with ROCK GOD (Rock Harder #2). Multi-platinum rock band Onyx Knight needs to replace their bass player, Carter Ambrose, after he dies. The task proves difficult until they audition and hire Devon Cates. Lead singer Kingston Knight knows he should stay away from Devon for the sake of the band, but he cannot deny their attraction.

Kingston Knight is the brother of Lauderdale Knights team owner, Remington Knight (KNIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, Lauderdale Knights #0.5). Their band manager is Sasha Petrov (ANTON, Sidewinders: Generations #3). I appreciate that there are other characters (like Chains) from her many series that also make appearances in this story.

ROCK GOD is a heartfelt and entertaining read. There is a lot going on in this story. The band is struggling with the loss of their band mate and friend. They need to adjust to a new member of their team. Devon needs to learn to deal with fame, and she is worried her past is going to come back to haunt her.

Kat Mizera does an amazing job with this story. It is skillfully written and thought provoking. I am looking forward to Kellan and Jesse’s story next ROCK STEADY. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
