Melt for You (Slow Burn, Book 2) by J. T. Geissinger Review

Melt for You (Slow Burn, #2)Melt for You by J.T. Geissinger
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

J. T. Geissinger triumphs with MELT FOR YOU, the second book in the Slow Burn series. Joellen Bixby has a crush on her companies’ CEO, Michael Maddox. She gets help from her new neighbor, Cameron McGregor, captain of the Scotland national union rugby team, to get Maddox’s attention. Unfortunately, Cameron has fallen for Jo in the process. This contemporary sports romance primarily takes place in New York. It is suitable for adult audiences.

I knew I was going to love this book just after reading the first page. The story starts out with the heroine’s top ten reasons why the Holidays Suck. It was hilarious. I love Joellen’s humor. Even her dreams were funny. I like her character. She underestimates herself. She has no idea that she is appealing, which is understandable, considering how her mother treats her. She has worked at Maddox Publishing for ten years and been in love with Michael for just as long.

Cameron McGregor is a fun character. He is vibrant. He sees Joellen for who she truly is. He respects her. He has a great outlook on life. He is good for Joellen. I love how they interact with each other.

Joellen’s boss, Portia, was a fascinating character. You hate her. She is a witch, to put it nicely. You don’t always know what to expect from her. She ends up surprising you.

MELT FOR YOU is skillfully written and entertaining. It is a story that is hard to put down. It has multiple examples of why you should not judge people until you get to know them. I loved that the epilogue starts off with another top ten list (also amusing). I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Sin With Me (Bad Habit #3) by J.T. Geissinger Review

Sin With Me (Bad Habit #3)Sin With Me by J.T. Geissinger
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

J.T. Geissinger prevails with SIN WITH ME the third book in the Bad Habit series. After losing her memory and family, Grace Stanton, is apprehensive of relationships. Bad Habit’s lead guitarist, Brody Scott, hides a guilty secrete from his youth. Their chemistry is undeniable. Fate has interesting things in store for the couple. This contemporary Rockstar romance is suitable for adult audiences. It takes place in California.

Grace and Brody are a fun couple. I love how they are always quoting movie lines to each other, and that they call each other out on the verbatim of the words. I found it amusing, how they would playfully tell the other one things like they were ugly or had big uneven feet. I like that they are both adrenalin junkies. I love Brody’s church.

I found it appropriate that they both had scars from their past that caused nightmares and phobias. Fate played an interesting roll in this story. They both had a lot to deal with in this story and came out the better for it.

I savored that the characters from the previous books played an important part of this novel. Starting with the birth of Chloe and A.J.’s baby (from book two MAKE ME SIN). The characters in this novel are amazing friends who are like a family to each other.

I loved this story! It helped that I already liked the main characters from the previous books in the series, but we learn so much more about both Brody and Grace in SIN WITH ME. J.T. Geissinger does an incredible job with her character development and plot. She is a skilled writer who creates power stories. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

About SIN WITH ME

The past she can’t remember. The secret he hides. And a love that’s worth risking it all.
After a devastating car crash stole both her family and her memory, Grace Stanton was left with no past and an uncertain future. Now Grace likes to keep things simple. No sleepovers, never date a guy more than a month, and never, ever fall in love. Which is exactly why Grace avoids Bad Habit’s lead guitarist, Brody Scott, at all costs. The green-eyed, sexy-as-hell musician has “trouble” tattooed all over him, and Grace isn’t taking any chances with her heart.

Brody knows he doesn’t deserve an amazing woman like Grace—her creamy skin, red hair, or that smart mouth that fuels his every fantasy—but there’s something between them that’s more than chemistry. Something real. He’ll just have to convince Grace that he’s worth the risk—and hide the secret that haunts his worst dreams. But when fate plays a cruel hand, Brody’s darkest sin suddenly threatens his last chance at redemption…and the life of the woman he loves.

Read an excerpt from SIN WITH ME:

Like fingers interlacing, several things slowly come together and fit into place.
“You could fall in love with me and not remember it?” I whisper.
She swallows and nods.
Dumbfounded, I stare at her. “Holy fuck.”
Looking miserable, she nods again. She tries to pull away but I don’t let her. I put my arms around her and squeeze.
She resists for what feels like forever, stiff and uncomfortable in my arms, but then slowly she gives in. She melts against me with a sigh, tucks her face into the space between my neck and shoulder, and winds her arms around my waist.
We stand like that for a while, not talking, feeling the chaotic beating of each other’s hearts. Her hair smells like sunshine. She’s soft and warm against me, lush and feminine. My dick is still wrestling for control with my brain, which is in a state of shock and is just sitting there lifelessly inside my skull like a big lump of cheese.
And suddenly I realize what a gift I’m being offered.
I can never right the wrongs of the past, no matter how desperately I might want to. But maybe those wrongs aren’t the end of the story. Maybe they’re only a new beginning.
If I’m going to do good by her, this is a fucking fantastic place to start.
My voice gruff, I say, “I’m in.”
She pulls away and looks at me, a little furrow between her brows. “What?”
“I said I’m in. Fuck it. If I can make you fall in love with me once, I can make you fall in love with me again and again. Every day if I have to.”
Grace blanches. “The Egosaurus rides again. I’m not in love with you!”
“But you will be,” I vow, looking at her dead-on. “Because I’m not gonna leave you any other choice.”
I plunge my hands into her hair, grip her head, pull her toward me, and fit my mouth against hers.
It’s like the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve and Christmas morning, all rolled into one.
Heat. Color. Noise. Fireworks behind my eyes. She moans into my mouth, digs her nails into my back, arches against me. I moan, too, fucking her luscious mouth with my tongue, one hand behind her neck and the other roaming all over her body, learning her shape, the dip of her waist, the full, tight curve of her ass.
It’s greedy.
It’s scorching.
It’s everything.
If there were a Guinness World Record for the most amazing, mind-blowing, cock-stiffening, heart-pounding, panty-melting, burn-down-the-house kiss, we’d win that motherfucker hands down.
We’re both breathing hard, desperate, mindless, lost. The kiss goes on and on, until I’m drunk on her. I’m flying. I’m melting. I’m—
Someone loudly clears his throat.
Stunned and reeling, Grace and I break apart.
Nico stands in the kitchen doorway with his hands on his hips, grinning like an idiot. “Hiya, kids,” he drawls. “What’re you two squirrels up to?”
Flushed and trembling, Grace lifts a hand to her lips. She lets out a short, astonished laugh and cuts her gaze to me.
I can’t talk either. My mouth can’t form any coherent words. I just stand there, dumb as a rock, my mind blank, my shorts tented, staring at Grace like I’ve spent my entire life up to this point living in a dark cave, surviving on worms and insects, and she just walked in with candles and flowers and a big fucking steak on a hot plate.
“Uhh . . .”
Nico bursts out laughing.
“I’ll just go see what Kat’s up to.” Grace’s voice is high and shaky. She bolts from the room.
“Just wanted to let you know a few people are starting to show up.” Nico glances at the front of my shorts and chuckles. “So, uh, you might want to pull yourself together, brother.”
Shaken to my core, I sag against the counter, gripping it hard for support, and let out a ragged breath. “Jesus. Is that what it’s like for you with Kat? That feeling like you’re . . .”
“Free-falling?” Nico supplies when I can’t find the right word. “High flying? Completely out of control?”
When I look up at him, he nods. “Yeah, brother. It is. At the beginning. And then it gets so much deeper and so much better, there aren’t any words for it at all.” His eyes—bright, cobalt-blue eyes that made him famous—pierce me. “But be careful. Because once you get on that speeding train, you can’t get off. Even if it jumps the tracks, crashes into a nuclear power plant, and burns the whole world to the ground.”
He gives me one long, last look and then turns around and leaves.
From somewhere very far off, I hear the sound of my demon laughing.

Into Darkness (Night Prowler #6) by J.T. Geissinger Review

Into Darkness (Night Prowler, #6)Into Darkness by J.T. Geissinger
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved Into Darkness, J.T. Geissinger’s sixth book in the Night Prowler Series. Lumina Bohn needs to hide that fact that she is not human. Her powers are revealed, and she escapes with the help of fellow Aberrant Magnus. This paranormal shapeshifter romance takes place in the dystopia future in the year 2037, twenty-four years after book five, which took place in 2013. The story is suitable for adult audiences.

J.T. Geissinger did a fantastic job depicting the world after the chaos that occurred in book five. Her characters are complex. I love that characters are still around from the previous books. I was also saddened by some of the casualties. I loved the chemistry between Lumina and Magnus. J.T. Geissinger plot was packed with depth and detail. The story is original and full of mystery and surprises. Into Darkness kept me on the edge of my seat. This was an incredible finale to the series; one that J.T. Geissinger should be proud of. I would love to see this series turned into a television series or movies.

Sweet as Sin (Bad Habit #1) by J.T. Geissinger Review

Sweet as SinSweet as Sin by J.T. Geissinger
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sweet as Sin by J.T. Geissinger is a rocking start to the Bad Habit Series. Hollywood makeup artist Kat Reid agrees to work on the set of a new music video for the world-famous band Bad Habit. When lead singer, Nico Nyx, girlfriend show up too drunk to play her role in the video, they convince Kat to play the part. Kat and Nyx have incredible chemistry in the video that Nyx wants to peruse off camera.

I really enjoyed this contemporary rock romance suitable for new adult and adult audiences. Both Kat and Nico are complex characters that grow throughout the story. They have an incredible chemistry. Nico is hiding his past, and Kat discovers his secrets in this story. The story is emotional and heartfelt. The plot is intense and believable. The characters are likable. J.T. Geissinger is off to a great new series. I cannot wait for the next book.

Make Me Sin (Bad Habit #2) by J.T. Geissinger Review

Make Me Sin (Bad Habit, #2)Make Me Sin by J.T. Geissinger
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Make Me Sin by J.T. Geissinger is an amazing story that had me awestruck. This contemporary rock star romance in set in Los Angeles and suitable for both New Adult and Adult readers. At the end of book one, Bad Habit lead singer Nico Nix and Kat Reid became engaged to each other. In book two, Bad Habit Drummer, A.J. Edwards and florist, Chloe Carmichael are standing up in the wedding together. They are complete opposites, and they cannot stand each other. Well at least, that’s what they originally think.

I love A.J. Character. He has so many painful secrets. He is an intense character that you like more and more as his story is uncovered. There is a side to him that no one knows about. I love how he got his dog, Bella. Chloe is sweet and hard working. She is a little naive, but that is part of her charm. Then of course there is the rest of the band and Chloe’s friends. They are good friends, and I enjoy their interaction. They are a real family.

The plot was incredible. There were multiple unexpected twists that kept me riveted. There was an excellent use of foreshadowing. Make Me Sin truly held me captivated. I loved this story. It had me crying, cheering, and hoping. My heart went out to A.J. and Chloe. J.T. Geissinger’s books continue to impress me. She is an amazing writer who does a great job of tapping into your emotions. Her writing style is impressive and seamless. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
