My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Ginger Scott scores with THE TOMBOY AND THE CAPTAIN (The Final Score #1). Tiff University volleyball team star Laney Price and hockey team captain Cutter McCreary are promised the same room. With a housing shortage, they decide to temporarily share the room. They make a bet that who ever falls in love with the other first needs to move out.
Laney and Cutter are likable characters. They start out as nemesis. Laney is coming back from a shoulder injury. She is worried about her position on the team. She wants to be a professional volleyball player. Cutter is the youngest of five boys. His father recently passed away, and his mom is undergoing treatment for breast cancer. As they get to know each other, feeling began to grow.
THE TOMBOY AND THE CAPTAIN is skillfully written and entertaining. This is the first book that I have read by Ginger Scott. I enjoyed her writing style. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
