My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Hannah Gray is on a winning streak with book four in The Puck Boys of Brooks University series, CHOSEN BOY. In this story, ballet dancer Sutton Savage decides to transfer from Julliard to Brooks University because her asthma was taking a toll on her body. Her parents disown her for her decision.
Brooks Hockey star Hunter Thompson’s goal is to get into the NHL. His parents want him to go to medical school and join their practice. On top of everything else going on, the hockey team is working with the dance team for a fundraiser. He gets paired with the daughter of his family’s enemy, Sutton Savage. The two end up fake dating in a deal to annoy Sutton’s parents and make Hunter’s ex-girlfriend jealous.
Hannah Gray does an excellent job with CHOSSEN BOY. It is an amazing addition to The Puck Boys of Brooks University series. I love all the characters and how they grow throughout the novel. They face compelling obstacles. There are interesting twists. My heart went out to them. Brody O’Brien (FILTHY BOY, The Puck Boys of Brooks University #3) has some interesting connections to this story. I cannot wait for Hunter’s sister Haley’s and his roommate/teammate’s Cade Huff’s story, LOST BOY, next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
