Evey Lyon starts out strong with the first book in the Lake Spark Off-Season series, WAITING TO SCORE. Former hockey star Declan Dash gets matched with his friend’s little sister, Violet Spears, at a special party. The two had an unforgettable night together. A few weeks later, Declan comes to Violet’s hometown, Lake Spark, Illinois, as the new owner of a hockey team. He is looking at Lake Spark as a possible location of a practice facility for his team. He makes Violet a deal to have a fling with him while he is in town.
Evey Lyon does a wonderful job with this book. Declan and Violet have fantastic chemistry. They experience some interesting scenarios. Violet is the sister of Ford Spears from WORTH THE WAIT (Lake Spark #3). I have not read that book and would like to read it.
This is the first book that I have read by Evey Lyon. I enjoyed her writing style and plan on reading more of her works in the future. WAITING TO SCORE is an excellent start to the Lake Spark Off-Season series. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, WAITING TO WIN (Violet’s nephew Connor and Hadley’s story). I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
