M.J. Fields gets a hat trick with book three in the Taking The Shot Series, HOT SHOT. Left Wing of the Lincoln Lions men’s hockey team, Sebastian (Bass) Giulietto, gets in trouble for bringing down the men’s hockey team GPA. He is required to get a tutor for the semester.
Center of the Lincoln Lions women’s hockey team Dylan Daniels gets suspended for getting in a fight for defending her twin sister, Drew, after she was injured in a game. Part of Dylan’s punishment is she must tutor Bass in Statistics II for the next semester. The problem is Bass and Dylan have known each other since they were kids, and she dislikes him.
Bass is the teammate/roommate of Leo (LONG SHOT, Taking The Shot #1) and Evan (SNAP SHOT, Taking The Shot #2).
M.J. Fields does a great job with this story. Bass and Dylan have amazing chemistry. They are fun characters. Their conversations (even to themselves) are amusing. Bass is always getting Dylan out of trouble. I could relate to Bass’ love of list and Dylan’s love of animals.
Bass was drafted to the Brooklyn Bears. Plus, there were some other interesting things regarding the Bears in this story. I am really hoping there is a Bear’s spin off series.
I am looking forward to Theo Rivera’s book next FLIP SHOT. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
