My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Hannah Gray gets a hat trick with book three in The Puck Boys of Brooks University series, FILTHY BOY. Defenseman, Brody O’Brien, meets his match, Bria Collins, at Brooks University in Georgia. They work together modeling underwear. They have instant chemistry. Both are broken and recognize a kindred spirit. They set a pact and vow to be friends, something they both need. They are afraid to become more out of fear of risking their friendship. You know where this is going.
Brody was/is roommates with Cam Hardy (PUCK BOY, The Puck Boys of Brooks University #1) and Link Sterns (BROKEN BOY, The Puck Boys of Brooks University #2). Bria’s brother is Kye Collins (CATCHING KYE, Florida East University Series #3).
Brody and Bria had difficult childhoods. Hockey gave Brody the opportunity to get away from his toxic upbringing and build a better life for himself. Bria attends Brooks for graduate school for photography. Brody gets her a job as the team photographer. They are both thoughtful of the other person. I love Brody’s nickname for Bria and the meaning behind it.
FILTHY BOY is a heartwarming and touching read. It is skillfully written and thought-provoking. I love the characters. FILTHY BOY is the perfect addition to The Puck Boys of Brooks University series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
