Brenda Rothert scores with THE DONER. Lawyer Shelby Grant decides she wants to have a baby. Upon researching Denver’s most eligible bachelors, she comes across Colorado Coyotes hockey star Beau Fox. Deciding he would be the perfect sperm donor, she puts together a proposal and pleads her case to him at the bar the team hangs out at.
I love this plot. It was creative and believably executed. The characters are wonderful. Shelby is an introvert who had a tough childhood. Beau is an extrovert with a wonderful family. The two balance each other out. There are a lot of compelling situations that happen in this story. It had me riveted finishing the book in one day.
THE DONOR is a great start to the Colorado Coyotes series. I’m looking forward to Ford Barrett’s and Shea Lawrence’s story next, THE OPPONENT. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
