The Puck Drop (Central State #1) by Jaqueline Snowe Review

The Puck Drop (Central State, #1)The Puck Drop by Jaqueline Snowe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jaqueline Snowe scores with THE PUCK DROP (Central State #1). Michael Reiner moves to the Midwest to obtain his master’s degree in sports management. He is offered his dream internship under the Central State Hockey coach. Top that off, he gets to work with the cute girl he just met, Naomi Fletcher-Simpson. The only problem is, she’d the coach’s daughter, and she doesn’t like hockey players.

Michael was introduced in HOLDOUT (Moo U #3). He was the brother of Ryann and teammate of Jonah Daniels. I love that Jaqueline Snowe spun this series off that story. Michael has suffered a lot of heart aches. His parents both died, and he is no longer playing hockey. I appreciate how he interacts with the hockey team, especially Cal Holt. I like Naomi. She is doing a stat project for the Wolves hockey team for her junior data analysis. Her ulterior motive was to spend more time with her dad, who she has issues with. She feels left out of her family. She has matters to resolve with her twin sister and father.

I enjoyed the friendship that Michael and Naomi built. They both have relevant problems to resolve and grow throughout the story. THE PUCK DROP is an excellent foundation for the Central State series. I look forward to the next book in the series. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
