Darkroom (Moo U #7) by Kate Willoughby Review

Darkroom (Moo U, #7)Darkroom by Kate Willoughby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kate Willoughby shoots and scores with DARKROOM (Moo U #7). In this story, Burlington University hockey star, Hudson Forte and pre-med student, Indi Briscoe team up as partners for their photography class. The two both need to be focused to achieve their future goals.

I really enjoyed this story. Indi and Hudson are both under a lot of pressure. Forte is from hockey royalty. The Fortes are the lone family to have someone from every generation of their family in the NHL since it originated. Forte is the only person playing hockey from his generation thus being constantly scrutinized by his entire family to make it to the NHL. Indi is focused on taking the MCAT. She has some confidence issues because she has a port wine stain birthmark on her face. She keeps it a secret covering it with make-up. Hudson and Indi are good for each other. They face some difficult obstacles and grow throughout the novel.

This story brought back fond memories of my college photography classes.

I appreciated that Hudson was drafted to Kate Willoughby’s San Francisco Dragons and included characters from her books. I also, appreciated that she worked in her Barracudas series. DARKROOM is an excellent addition to Sarina Bowen’s world of True North. I recommend this story to people who enjoy hockey romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
