Rachel L. Schade was born on the first day of summer in a small town in Michigan, only to end up in another small town in Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University to learn how to write obnoxiously long papers, cite people who use big words, and discuss her passion: books. She has a great love for the color blue, sunshine, chocolate, and not folding her laundry. Currently she lives with her husband and surrounds herself with coffee and books on a regular basis.

Describe yourself in 5 words or less:
Funny, bookish, introverted, and passionate

Tell us something really interesting that's happened to you:
I ran a marathon before my 26th birthday. My best friend and I called it our 26 miles before 26. The whole training process was an incredible experience, because it helped me appreciate my body and myself more. I really felt like Wonder Woman when I was out running around mile 15, feeling like maybe my body could keep going forever. (Spoiler Alert: I can’t run forever.)

What are some of your pet peeves?
Bad drivers, loud chewing, interrupting me when I’m reading

Where were you born/grew up at?
I was born in Michigan, but at age 8 moved to Ohio and proceeded to spend the majority of my life up to this point there. My husband and I recently relocated to Arizona.

If you knew you'd die tomorrow, how would you spend your last day?
With loved ones

Who is your hero and why?
My parents, because they were some of the most loving people I knew, as well as strong, kind, and intelligent.

What do you do to unwind and relax?

Reading, writing (sometimes it’s relaxing!), listening to music, bookstagramming, and Netflix-ing
