Jennifer Snyder’s Marked is a great start to the Marked Duology. The moment Tessa Morganton and Jace Fowler met they are attracted to each other. Then Tessa’s life changes drastically after an animal attack. This paranormal shapeshifter novel takes place in North Carolina and is suitable for young adults.
I liked the characters. Tessa is sweet. Her mom comes off as if she is hiding something. Jace is mysterious and driven. I really enjoyed the plot of Marked. While it had the feel of a typical shapeshifter novel, it had some unexpected and interesting twists. There are some fascinating conflicts. Both Tessa’s and Jace’s exes, Sam and Shelby, are a little on the crazy side, adding interest to the story. At a little over 100-pages Marked is a fast read. The story held my interest the entire time and was well-written. I cannot wait to read the next book Changed.
