Primal by Lucy Auburn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
4 ½ of 5 Stars
Mara Finn decides to have a one-night stand with dangerous bad boy, Ryker, whom she meets at a bar. The last thing she expects is for him to be a TA in one of her college courses. She cannot help getting the feeling that there is more to Ryker then meets the eye.
Primal was a fascinating shape shifter story that was unique and exciting. I could totally see this book as a television series on The CW, one that I would religiously watch.
I really like Mara. I related to her because she was an art major. I started out as an art major before I switched to Industrial Design, so I got the classes, especially figure drawing. Mara is almost the opposite of Ryker, more reserved.
Ryker is completely captivating. He definitely has the bad-boy image perfected. He is mysterious and protective. He has had a difficult life making me appreciate his character. Mara and Ryker have an intense chemistry.
Lucy Auburn did a fantastic job creating a new and exciting supernatural world that takes place in Belmont City. Her descriptions are vivid. Her plot is clever, mysterious, and thrilling. The way humans turn into shape shifters is extremely original. I will anxiously be waiting the next book from the series.
