10 Things You Didn’t Know About the Revelation Series
On May 31st, the highly anticipated fourth book, Revolution, in Randi Cooley Wilson’s, The Revelation Series will be releasing. A story about self-discovery, love, and sacrifice. The novels within the new adult, paranormal romance series follow college freshman, Eve Collin’s journey as she meets, and falls in love with, her supernatural gargoyle protector, Asher St. Michael. Since the books made their official debut in 2014 (Revelation, Restraint and Redemption), the series has quickly become a favorite amongst readers. Here are ten things you might not know about the books taking over the hearts of book lovers everywhere.
10. The Rev Series Official Gear!
Callan fan’s get ready...those aprons he wears in the books that you love so much are available for purchase. Yep. Randi has a store on Zazzle filled with the Rev gear a fan needs, because what’s sexier than Callan St. Michael, in an apron, baking cookies?
9. The Callan Character Was Only Slated for Revelation, Book #1!
Say what now? That’s right. Callan St. Michael, probably the most beloved secondary character within The Revelation Series, was only intended to make an appearance in the first novel, Revelation. Rumor has it he captured the author’s love so intensely, that she didn’t have the heart to off him, instead she kept him around for all of us to fall in love with. Yum.
8. The Great Ice Cream Debate: Is Fruit Flavored Ice Cream Sorbet or Ice Cream?
In the third book, Redemption, Callan and his love Abby have a pretty intense argument over ice cream flavors that will have you clutching your side after a severe bout of hysterics. The great ice cream debate is one that Randi and her real-life husband, David, actually had. To this day, Randi stands by the fact that fruit-flavored ice cream is in fact, ice cream. David does not.
7. Gage Gallagher Was Originally Named Bane? What The What?
You read correctly. Gage Gallagher, the hot, schmexy, mysterious gargoyle that smokes at least a pack a day, and has us all on edge with which side he’s really on, was originally named Bane after the villain in Batman. After the very talented, Cassandra Clare released The Bane Chronicles, Randi changed our beloved Gage to, well Gage.
6. Asher St. Michael, Loves To Read!
Team Asher fans know this to be truth. In each book, Randi writes a scene where Asher is reading a physical book. Not only is he incredibly sexy, dominating, fiercely protective and extremely loyal, but he reads. Sigh. What more could you want in a leading man?
5. Eve Met Aria In The Same Way The Author and Her College Roommate Met!
Despite her adamance that characters in this series are not based off ‘real’ people, author Randi Cooley Wilson does admit that in Revelation, The Revelation Series, Book #1, how our main heroine, Eve Collins, and her best friend/college roommate, Aria, met at freshman orientation, is in fact, the same way Randi met her real-life, long-time, closest friend, and college roommate.
4. The Author’s Daughter and Eve Collins Have The Same Birthday.
Eve Collins was born on May 22, and so was the author’s daughter. It’s also why Randi tries to keep each book to 22 chapters. It’s her lucky number. She’s superstitious like that.
3. Asher’s Piercing Was A Last Minute Decision.
How we all love Asher St. Michael and his, ah, ‘piercing’. According to Randi, it was a last minute decision to add a piercing during an intimate scene between he and Eve. Score for ‘last minute’ author decisions.
2. McKenna Is Randi’s Favorite Character?
True. Randi has stated on numerous occasions that McKenna, even though her bedside manner sucks for a sentential of godly charges, is her favorite character. Her voice, though abrasive brings readers back into the truth of the storyline and often times says what the author is thinking while writing the story.
1. The Revelation Series Was Written In Under 1.5 Years!
Since it is a five book series, Randi wanted to be sure that readers didn’t have to wait too long in between each book’s release. She was able to write each full-length novel and release them within 3-4 months of one another. Including Revolution, book 4 and Restoration, the fifth and final book, which is slated to release in August 2015. The wait will soon be over Rev fans. Lets just hope Eve and Asher get their happily ever after.
