Heartstrings & Hockey Pucks (Holidays in Lake Point #7) by Sarah Cass Review

Heartstrings & Hockey Pucks (Holidays in Lake Point #7)Heartstrings & Hockey Pucks by Sarah Cass
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Penelope Giroux returns from a year in France to pursue her lifelong dream. Her first stop once back in the states, is to visits her best friend and hockey center, Cage Strawski. Unresolved feeling between the two resurfaces, and original goals are questioned.

Heartstrings & Hockey Pucks is a cute story, about two people and their evolving friendship.

Penelope (Pen) is from a wealthy family. She was raised more by her nanny then parents. Her mom is a piece of work, very overbearing and controlling. It is amazing Pen turned out as normal as she did.

Cage grew up with his single mom and sister. They are a close knit family that treasure their bond. They are good people with a healthy relationship.

A couple of times I felt Pen was over blaming Cage for things that did not happen in their relationship when all relationships are a two-way street. Despite being best friends they clearly had a lack of communication about how they really felt about each other. It took being separated for them to fess up to their feelings and what everyone around them knew was inevitable.

The plot was charming. I really liked the Epilogue. It was a great way to end the story, although I would not mind a sequel.
