Loving Dragon by T. Lee Garland
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Catherine Stanley’s father wants to try to force her into an arranged marriage. Wanting nothing to do with the man her father promised her to, she runs away and meets former MMA Champion Dane “the Dragon” Maldonado. Unfortunately, her treacherous ex-fiancée doesn’t give up so easily.
Catherine’s step-father, Howard, is a piece of work. I have a problem with him trying to force Catherine into an arranged marriage in this day in age in the United States. He is a selfish man who only cares about is himself and his image.
I admire Catherine for having the guts to run away and not comply with her parents’ wishes. She gives up her plush lifestyle for one of freedom and hard work.
Dragon is an admiral hero. He pulled himself out of a bad childhood situation into a good life. Even though he is a former MMA Champion, he doesn’t like hurting people.
The story was pretty good but a little too much like a soap opera for me. It is a quick read that was easy to follow.
