Linebacker Frank Kelly is known to get himself in trouble. When he gets arrested for fighting at a club, Kiana Dyer, gets him out in exchange for pretending to be her boyfriend to help boost interest in her charity organization.
You cannot help but like Frank. He’s the brother who always lets his red-headed temper get him in trouble. He is very well-connected. He has wonderful ideas and acts on them. When he commits to something, he goes all out.
I enjoyed Kiana’s character. After her Hall of Fame Football father, Marshall Dyer, passed away she took over his charity. It is a noble organization that helps acquire football equipment to less fortunate kids Kiana understandably, has some trust issues she needs to overcome in the story.
In the Red Zone has an interesting plot. It is a book about family, trust, and motivation. It is very believable and heartwarming. It has some attention-grabbing twist. I like how some of the Kelly Family is involved in the story.
While part of a series, the reader would have no problem following this book on its own or out of order. You just wouldn’t have as much appreciation for some things they mention in the story. For example, Frank tells Kiana how his brother Ben and Hailey met, which is in the start of book 2 – which I loved. I appreciated the similarities in that particular situation.
