Night of the Fallen by Diana Bocco
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Isabelle escapes from the compound after the rabid vampires attack. She goes back into hiding with her human friends hoping they do not discover that she fell in love with the man she vowed to kill, Marcus, king of the vampires.
I love Night of the Fallen. The story picked up where book one, City of the Fallen, left off. The action never stopped.
Isabelle is a worthy heroine. She struggles with her feeling for Marcus and her loyalty to her human family and friends. She realizes that not everything is what it seems and that not all vampires are bad. Just like all people are not good.
Marcus is a well-intentioned leader. While things did not turn out how he wanted, he does try to do what is best. I like that he truly loves Isabelle. I appreciate that he seems to put a lot of thought into things.
Dark Tides is a terrific series with a refreshing dystopia spin on vampire novels. It is clever and well written. I am anxiously awaiting the next release to the story.
