My rating: 4 ½ of 5 Stars
Eighteen-year-old Britt Anderson was dying of cancer. She decides she can no longer handle the pain and torment it is putting on her loved ones. She decides to end her life by drowning. Eternal Allister Parks is drawn to Britt and brings her back to life, changing her; an action that carries a death sentence.
Wow, this story was amazing. It keeps getting more intense as it goes on, making it hard to put down. It flows well and is an excellent read. I was continually surprised by what happened next.
Britt Anderson is astonishing. When her cancer is gone, she wants to help everyone around her not concerned for her own well-being. She is a loyal and remarkable person. Almost everyone who comes across her is enchanted with her; especially the boys: Allister, Kendal, and Gabe.
I love Allister. He is a great hero. He wants the best for Britt. He is passionate about her and will do whatever it takes to protect her.
Kendal Statford’s character is interesting. He’s okay for a bad guy. He’s morally wrong but has his good qualities. That makes him very realistic because people’s personalities are seldom black and white.
The plot was definitely new and refreshing. C. S. Yelle did an astounding job creating a believable world and supernatural qualities. The characters are multidimensional. It is easy to relate to them and feel emotionally connected. This is a series I will want to continue. I’m dying to know what Yelle comes up with next.
