Donna Augustine's THE ALCHEMY Series Tour: Interview, Review, & Giveaway

The Keepers

The Alchemy Series, #1

Two days ago, Jo Davids was a waitress by night and a college kid by day, with the unnerving problem of objects floating around her.

One Day ago, Jo's sexy boss, Cormac, noticed her for all the wrong reasons when she witnessed a man transform into a monster in the basement of his casino.

Today, Cormac ordered her shot.

If he's real lucky, she won't die. Because if she does, all hope is lost.

Keepers and Killers

The Alchemy Series, #2

The story of Jo and Cormac continues on in this fast paced drama.

It's very hard to work with someone who tried to murder me. But when the mysterious senator reappears on the scene, I'm desperate enough to take whatever help I can get, even if it is from Cormac. Dealing with him is nothing compared to losing a few hundred lives and that's the best case scenario. Worst case? I lose them all.

Shattered

Alchemy Series Book #3

I thought I could be a hero. That was before I helped destroy the world. Now, as I stand among the rubble of what used to be, I wonder how we're ever going to pick up the pieces.

Everyday is a struggle, and people are getting desperate. Creatures that never should have existed are picking away at the dwindling numbers of the human race. And the knowledge that could be our salvation lies with the senator who reigns supreme on the other half of the globe.

Interview:

I would like to welcome and thank Donna Augustine for taking the time to answer the following author interview questions.

What is your favorite part of the Alcheny Series?

I'm enjoying the dystopian turn it's taking. When I began, this was always the destination. When I read dystopian, a lot of times they pick up after the world has already changed. I wanted to write about how they came to be in this dark place.

What is your favorite book that you wrote?

The last one, Shattered. I can't imagine it ever not being the last work I did. The only sure goal I have with each book is that it has to be better than the last. At some point, I might not be able to accomplish that, but right now, I feel like I'm still learning every day.

Who or what inspired you to be a writer?

I'm a reader. Don't all readers harbor a secret desire to write? I always thought it was just a given, sort of like taxes and death.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Karen Marie Moning. It's not the storylines or the characters, even though they are fantastic. It's the words. When you read one of her Fever books, you know she labored over every sentence, every word choice. They weren't churned out to make a quick buck or to push a series, it's a labor of love and you can see it in every sentence she writes.

How do you overcome writer’s block?

I keep writing, even when I know it's bad and it's going to get tossed. Sometimes, I hop to a scene further along in the book that I know I'll have an easier time writing.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?

It's the final book in the Alchemy Series and it's probably going to be the darkest and grittiest of them yet.

What do you prefer paperback, hardcover, or ebooks?

I've got hardcovers but I won't read them. Those are the books I collect. I love a well-worn paperback that has been shared and collectively enjoyed. But lately, I find myself reading almost exclusively on my Kindle. You just have to love the blind girl font as you get older. Too many years of reading under the blankets with a flashlight are coming back to haunt me.
