The Firelight of Maalda (The Raie'Chaelia #2)by Melissa Douthit Review
The Firelight of Maalda by Melissa Douthit
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Chalice and her friends continue their journey to retrieve the Firestone. Chalice discovers what it means to be Terravailian, the Princess, and the First of the lelierian.
The Firelight of Maalda discusses and deals with prejudices between the different nation and gender. Chalice is determined to overcome them.
I like that Chalice stayed normal and not pompous as a result of becoming a princess. She wants to be called by her name versus her title.
I really like the Chinuk, Bunejab. Every time he is involved in the story it made me smile. He seems like such a sweet and intelligent creature.
The Firelight of Maalda is a quick read. It is rich in symbolism and adventure. It is a creative fantasy novel with a deeper undertone.
