Set in Yorkshire, February 1816. Actress Sarah Hayes and Sebastian Commin, Earl of Deane, have been avoiding each other for the past six months following a one-night stand. Now they are placed in an awkward situation after both being invited to a multiple day house party.
Truth be told, Sarah and Sebastian are both attracted to each other but allow their station to dictate their lives. Now they are involved in the mystery of the Imnada shape-shifter and the Naxos. They set out to discover its secrets as well as their feelings for each other.
Alexa Egan does an ideal job of making you feel like you are in the 1800s. She successfully packs a lot of information and details in this short 100 page novella. Egan created an interesting story with this prequel to Shadow’s Curse, which I am looking forward to reading.
