Author Bio
A long-time
enthusiast of things that go bump in the night, Theresa began her writing
career as a journalism intern—possibly the least creative writing field out
there. After her first semester at a local newspaper, she washed her hands of
press releases and feature articles to delve into the whimsical world of
fiction.
Since then,
Theresa has been married, had three terrific kids, moved to central Ohio, and
has been repeatedly guilt-tripped into adopting a menagerie of animals that are
now members of the family. But don’t be fooled by her domesticated appearance.
Her greatest love is travel. Having traveled to over a dozen countries—not to
mention an extended seven-year stay in Kodiak, Alaska—she is anything but settled
down. Wherever life brings her, Theresa will continue to weave tales of
adventure and love with the hope her stories will bring joy and inspiration to
her readers.

If you were stranded on a desert island which
of your characters do you want by your side?
Definitely Zanya.
She’s the Stone Guardian, and her abilities would be a great value in a
survival situation.
If you could be best friends with one of your
characters, who would it be?
Jayden. He’s a
smartass with a chip on his shoulder and no regard for authority. He has a
sarcastic response to everything—which I love—and has a bit of a potty mouth.
But he’s passionate, brave, and unique.
How do you overcome writer’s block?
I edit. When I’m stuck
I go back to the beginning, read through the book, and find the spot where I
think the story derailed. Often times I’ll get a killer idea along the way.
Other times I have to delete a few thousand words to fix the problem. But I
always find a solution. I don’t really believe in muses. Writing is a creative
field, but it’s not an industry where you can throw up your arms because you’re
not struck with a bolt of inspiration by an imaginary pixie. I have a job to do
and a deadline to make. Period. And like I always say, I can edit anything but
a blank page.
What do you prefer paperback, hardcover, or
ebooks?
Paperback by far. I
love holding a book in my hands. Still, a part of me wants to conserve the
trees and go wireless. I do have a Nook, which I love, but when it’s not
charged I can’t read. A paperback never runs out of charge. Plus they are far
more expensive than e-books. And then there’s the space issue. Yeah, the
struggle is real.

say to your readers?
