Fable Calloway catches her boyfriend, Brady, cheating on her. Unfortunately, Brady is the cousin of her future brother-in-law, Leo. Not wanting to ruin her sister Charlotte’s big day, Fabel keeps the information to herself. Fable’s boss, Wilder Blaine, is Leo’s best friend and best man. They help each other by pretending to date so Fabel can save face with Brady and Wilder can get his aunt to stop playing matchmaker.
Fable is friends with Josie Winters (THE BOYFRIEND GOAL, Love and Hockey #1) and Everly Rosewood (THE ROMANCE LINE, Love and Hockey #2). We met Fable and Wilder in that series.
Lauren Blakely does a great job with this story. It is compelling and festive. The bridal party spends the week before the wedding in Evergreen Falls. They participate in Christmas competitions before the wedding. It is quite entertaining. Throw in Wilder’s eleven-year-old daughter who wants to see her dad happy.
MY FAVORITE HOLIDATE is a heartfelt and enjoyable read. It is an excellent book to get in the mood for the holidays. The characters are dimensional. They find something they are not looking for. The story is skillfully written. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

To my surprise my billionaire boss is more than up for the challenge of coming down the chimney as my holiday boyfriend. The sexy single dad desperately needs a plus one at a Christmas Eve wedding, where he’s the best man and I’m the maid of honor.
And since my ex is in the wedding party too, my boss and I team up as a pair of insta-lovebirds for the holiday season, including during the annual week-long Christmas competition leading up to the snowy destination wedding.
But soon staying up late to string the best popcorn balls ever turns into a scorching night in his arms where the chestnuts aren’t the only thing roasting on the open fire.
Can all these winter wonderland nights seeking revenge turn into the real thing when we return to the office? Or are we destined to go the way of a Christmas tree on New Year’s?
“Not in the least.” Then she murmurs under her breath, a little sensually, “Sir.”
Well, then. That’s a whole lot of info delivered in that tone. I can’t not ask: “So not only does it not surprise you, it sounds like you don’t mind it either?”
She tips her chin up at me, challenging me with, “What do you think?”
I don’t think. I do. I slide my thumb along her pretty chin. God, it feels so good to touch her again. “That you like to give me hell. That you like to keep me on my toes. And that you love to give me a hard time.”
She leans into my touch, almost like she’s saying with her body don’t stop. “And I think you love all those things too,” she says in a husky voice that gives a little hint of her desire.
My thumb travels up to her cheek. She moves with me, her breath gusting across those gorgeous lips. “You’d be right,” I say, heat flaring inside me.
A #1 New York Times Bestselling, #1 Wall Street Journal Bestselling, and #1 Audible Bestselling author, Lauren Blakely is known for her contemporary romance style that’s cute but spicy. Lauren likes dogs, cake, and show tunes and is the vegetarian at your dinner party.

Excerpt
“We shouldn’t do this, Miss Brenner. You work for me.” The words feel like acid leaving my mouth as everything south of it rebels at the idea of rejecting her. But I refuse to be the guy who takes advantage of the situation. She untangles her hands from the front of my shirt and runs them up my forearms. Her fingers trace the lines of my tattoo. Her dark-purple nails are a stark contrast to her pale skin. Nails that would feel amazing scouring my back once we’re both stripped of our clothes. “I do work for you, Mr. Kingston. And you know what the one good thing my piece-of-shit father did for me was?” Without giving me a chance to answer, she leans closer, bringing her lips to the shell of my ear and dropping her voice. “He gave me a twelve-month contract. You can’t fire me for an entire year. We might as well have some fun. I promise you, nothing needs to change. You’ll still drive me crazy Monday morning.” “I’m not looking for a girlfriend, Daphne.” She’s saying all the right things. But when something seems too good to be true, it usually is. “Good. Because the last thing I need is someone else who thinks they have a say over the way I live, Max. I’ve had enough of that to last a lifetime.”Her eyes dance between mine. “And I’m not looking for it now.” I move closer, erasing any space between us. “Are you sure?” My entire body riots at the idea that she could change her mind. But I ask it anyway because it’s the right thing to do. Daphne nods her head with a beautiful smile on her lips. “Words, Miss Brenner. I need to hear the words.” Excitement is hot. But consent is fucking sexy. Her fingers tighten on my arms. “I’m sure, Mr. Kingston. Now get me out of here.” I reach into my pocket and pull three-hundred-dollar bills from my wallet and throw them on the bar. “Hey, Sawyer.” I wait for him to look up. “Can you tell Becks to catch an Uber back?” Sawyer looks between Daphne and me and raises a brow. “Yeah. I’ve got ya covered.” I frame Daphne’s face in both my hands. “Do you need to text your friends?” “I’ll do it from the car.” “No, baby. You’re going to be doing other things in the car. Text your friends.”
Author Bio
About Bella Bella Matthews is a Jersey girl at heart. She is married to her very own Alpha Male and raising three little ones. You can typically find her running from one sporting event to another. When she is home, she is usually hiding in her home office with the only other female in her house, her rescue dog Tinker Bell by her side. She likes to write swoon-worthy heroes and sassy, smart heroines with a healthy dose of laughter thrown in.
Bella Matthews soars with FALLEN KING (Restless Kings #3). In this story, Daphne Brenner’s dream of one day running the charity of the Philadelphia Revolution hockey team is smashed when her father blind sides her by selling the organization that has been owned by her family for generations. One stipulation for the sale of the team is that her position as the executive assistant to the CEO stays intact for a year. Now she works for, Max Kingston, the oldest Kingston sibling, and new President of Operations for the Revolution.
I adored this story. Max and Daphne are wonderful characters. They are both driven and have amazing chemistry. My heart went out to Daphne and the position her father put her in. Max is a strong hero who wants to carve his own legacy. The plot was solid, and story was skillfully written. I love Max’s family. They are entertaining.
Max’s family also owns the Philadelphia Kings football team. I love that Daphne lives with Carys and Declan Sinclair. Declan is the quarterback of the Kings, so that causes some interesting drama.
This is the first book that I have read by Bella Matthews. After reading this book, I want to read the previous books in the Restless Kings and The Kings of Kroydon Hills series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
