Christiana Watson scores with BREAKAWAY. BREAKAWAY is a love triangle between new Valors’ hockey team member, Devon Cote; Charlotte (Charlie) Richmond; and Valors’ Assistant Captain, Sean Tremblay. Devon and Sean are competing to win over Charlie. What makes it even more interesting is that Devon and Sean are roommates. This novel is suitable for adult audiences. It primarily takes place in North Charleston.

Christiana Watson does a wonderful job with her plot and character development. The story was skillfully written and entertaining. Charlie had a tough life. She was raised by her aunt Enid, who was verbally abusive. I like Charlie. Her confidence has taken a big hit because of her past. When she messes up, she holds herself accountable. It is interesting how the relationships in this story begin and evolve. There are misunderstandings and incorrect assumptions along the way. I like how the story is resolved. The Epilogue was perfect. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
