My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Kelly Jamieson gets a win with LIGHT ’EM UP (Bang Brothers Hockey #5). Annie Bang is the new skating coach for the New York Bears. She is the only daughter in the Bang family. Her five brothers play hockey; four in the NHL and one in college.
Logan Coates wants to move up from the Bear’s fourth line. He is not sold on having a former figure skater as a hockey coach, but he needs Annie’s help if he wants a shot at moving to a higher line. Unfortunately, Annie and he shared a past, and Annie hates him.
Kelly Jamieson does a great job with this story. She included the perfect amount from the Bang Brothers Hockey series and the Bears Hockey series. I also enjoyed the inclusion of the Heller brothers.
Like the other Bang Brothers Hockey stories, Mama Bang is on a mission to set her children up. However, in this case, she is trying to set Annie up with her former figure skating partner, and the entire family does not like Logan. It makes for an entertaining story. Annie and Logan have great chemistry. As they work together, they clear the air and get to know one another.
LIGHT ’EM UP is skillfully written and compelling. I am looking forward to the last book in the series, HOOK 'EM HARD (Bang Brothers Hockey #6) by Cathryn Fox. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
