My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Kate Meader hits it into the net with WILD RIDE (Rookie Rebels #8). Chicago Rebels hockey player Dex O'Malley keeps getting into trouble, but this time he might have gone too far. The team’s PR department sets him up to volunteer at a local animal shelter. He needs his new boss, Ashley Adams to give him a good review.
Single mom Ashley Adams has a lot going on. The last thing she wants to deal with is a problem hockey player, but the shelter relies on contributions from the team. The more she gets to know him; she sees similarities in him and her orphaned animals. They just need a little TLC to mend them.
I love Ashley and Dex. Ashley’s confidence was blown due to her divorce. Dex has had a hard life. He was in Foster care as a kid. He has never felt like he belonged. The two are perfect for each other to help them both heal.
Ashley’s nine-year-old daughter, Willa, is adorable. She is very wise for her age. I love the animal write ups at the shelter. Their likes and dislikes were amusing.
WILD RIDE is the perfect addition to the Rookie Rebels series. It was skillfully written and heartfelt. It had me laughing and smiling. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
