Evey Lyon gets a hat trick with book three in the Lake Spark Off-Season series, WAITING TO PLAY. Hockey star Vaughn Madden and Isla Chase have a one-night stand while she was in Florida at a conference. Isla also happens to be the sister of Vaughn’s nemesis Brigg’s Chase. Nine months later, Vaughn gets a job as the General Manager for the Chicago Spinners, where Isla works in the marketing department. He discovers he is about to become a dad.
Vaughn and Isla originally meet at Hadley Crews and Connor Spears’ (Waiting to win, Lake Spark Off-Season #2) wedding. As you can imagine, things are quite interesting since Isla kept the baby a secret and there is no love loss between Brigg’s and Vaughn. WAITING TO PLAY is a heartwarming and entertaining read. I love Vaughn and Isla. They are terrific characters. They face many appealing challenges. The name of their daughter is appropriate and sweet.
I am looking forward to Vaughn’s brother Stone Madden’s story next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
