My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Drew Jenkins is traded to his hometown team the Boston Rebels. When he goes to a party at his agent Jameson Flynn’s house (ON THE LINE, Frozen Hearts Series #4) he runs into his college calculus tutor from Boston University, Audrey. Then he meets her five-year-old son, Graham, who looks a lot like him.
I adored this story. Julia Connors does a fantastic job with this first book in the Boston Rebels series CENTER ICE. Drew has a lot on his plate. He has just been traded to a new team. He only has a year contract, so he must make a good impression. His mother has Parkinson's. He just discovered he has a five-year-old son, and the mother of his child is his agent’s younger sister.
Drew never forgot Audrey and he wants to win her and Graham over. Audrey has trust issues due to a previous relationship, and the fact that their father left them when they were children. CENTER ICE is a heartfelt and entertaining read.
I am looking forward to Audrey’s sister Jules’ and Jameson's best friend/Rebles goalie Mathieu Coltier’s (Colt) story next, FAKE SHOT. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
