My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Gina Azzi is on a winning streak with HERO’S RISK (Tennessee Thunderbolts #5). In this story, Tennessee Thunderbolts hockey goalie Beau Turner’s heart was broken when his ex-girlfriend, Celine Hernandez, moved to L.A. to pursue an acting career. Now the famous actress has come back home to Tennessee to film a movie. It is inevitable that they cross paths.
I was really looking forward to reading Beau’s and Celine’s story. I was not disappointed. Beau is the older brother of Bea (ROOKIES REGRET, Tennessee Thunderbolts #3). Before Beau became the goalie for the Thunderbolt, he served in the Marines. He is suffering from PTSD. Celine has stayed in contact with Beau’s siblings and grandmother. Neither one has ever gotten over the other. They were both deeply hurt by their breakup. The two have some obstacles to overcome, and some healing to do.
I loved this story. HERO’S RISK was heartfelt and entertaining. The characters are genuine, and the story is believable. It is a wonderful addition to the Tennessee Thunderbolts series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
