One Last Shot by Julia Connors Review

One Last ShotOne Last Shot by Julia Connors
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Julia Connors lights the lamp with ON LAST SHOT. Petra Volkova heart was broken by Aleksandr (Sasha) Ivanov when she was sixteen. Fourteen years later, he is an NHL star, and she has a successful business and is a former model/ski champion. He seeks out her help to get US citizenship, so he could adopt his niece, Stella. He also informs her that the loan she thought she got from his dad who was signed by her father and Aleksandr and Petra signed as witnesses, was really a marriage license. They have been married for the last fourteen years.

Needless to say, Sasha and Petra have a complicated history. They grew up together in Innsbruck, Austria. Sasha played hockey in the KHL. Petra went to a boarding school in Switzerland to be on the ski team and try to get a spot on the Austrian National Team. Fast forward fourteen years to their current situation; they both have unresolved feelings. They have secrets. They both have careers that are important to them. They both love Stella. They have numerous obstacles to overcome.

This is the first book that I have read by Julia Connors. I enjoyed her writing style. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
