Pax: A Sin City Saints Hockey Romance by Brenda Rothert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Brenda Rothert gets a hat trick with book three in the Sin City Saints Hockey series, PAX. Las Vegas Saints enforcer Pax Bishope has had a crush on his teammate Pike Morgan’s (Book two) sister, Kylie, since he met her. So, when the new owner’s daughter makes unwanted advances toward him, he blurts out that he is dating Kylie. Now he needs to ask Kalie to pretend to be his fake girlfriend, hope Pike doesn’t kill him, and pray the boss’ daughter backs off.
I like Kylie. She is a thirty-one-year-old widow. She is a single mother to a daughter, Jasmine. She has had a tough go of things and deserve happiness. Pax is a good guy. His father is a famous retired hall of fame basketball player. He has issues with his parents because he was raised by his nanny, driver, and security guards instead of his parents. He suffered a major loss in his life that enables him to relate to Kylie.
Brenda Rothert does a great job with this story. It is heartwarming and entertaining. I enjoyed the plot. I love the epilogue. There were interesting issues in the story, including: grieving and harassment. It was the perfect addition the Sin City Saints Hockey series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
