My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Gina Azzi lights the lamp with BRAWLER’S WEAKNESS (Tennessee Thunderbolts #2). NHL defenseman Axel Daire has always put his twenty-one-year-old daughter, Lola, first. Then he meets Maisy Stratford and thinks he might be ready to date.
Maisy is friends with Mila Lewis from HOT SHOT’S MISTAKE (Tennessee Thunderbolts #1). Devon Hardt from the same book is Brawler’s teammate. Maisy is starting a new job in human resources with the Tennessee Thunderbolts. Her first day of work starts out less than stellar when her boyfriend breaks up with her over a text. Then Axel comes to her rescue.
I love Maisy and Axel. They are good for each other. Maisy is a sweet heroine. She has had a difficult past of being belittled. I love that she hits it off with Axel’s daughter. Axel is a great guy. He had his daughter at sixteen. He co-parented her but was never married. He hasn’t dated so he is a bit clueless in that department. His daughter, her best friend, and his brother are more than happy to give his advice. I love that he is a protector and perceptive. Both are hesitant with their relationship because they fell like the other could break them.
BRAWLER’S WEAKNESS is a heartfelt and sweet story. It is skillfully written and entertaining. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
